- Abstract
- This study is concerning a discourse analysis to look into a set of interactions happening during a book review discussion in order to see the process of meaning negotiation and the use of scaffoldings among the participants, whereby it could examine the pedagogical role of the book review discussion.
The author of this dissertation, as a teacher-researcher herself, has worked with three groups of elementary school students. All the verbal interactions within each group have been audio-recorded and transcribed, and then categorized according to the subject or the situation of the discussions before the data analysis.
