- This dissertation is on the analysis of the Hungarian Rhapsody No. 12.
A pianist can play the piano but cant show a superb performance if he or she doesn't know the circumstances and the intend of the composer. Therefore it have risks that make emotional and arbitrary performance.
F. Liszt who is Hungarian traveled to many countries and hold a concert tour. He showed to us what recital is and he was certainly the center of attention due to his skill of the piano. He composed Hungarian Rhapsody affected by the Gypsy music in Hungary.
The Gypsy music is not the folk music but they influenced themselves. It have moved to several countries and finally transform it into new music accepting each country's culture and music although the origin of the Gypsy music is unknown . It features freeform, heroic and unplanned music so called improvision. Liszt used this kind of the gypsy music and composed the Hungarian Rhapsodies. The main characteristics of the piece are spontaneous cadenza, unconstrained rhythm and frequently changing tempo and mood.
The paper focuses on the life of Liszt, his pieces and finally moves on to the definition and characteristics between the folk music and the gypsy music of the Hungary. Further the body of the paper concentrates on the origin and history of Rhapsody and the feature constructing Hungarian Rhapsody. Last part of the paper is for increasing desirable performance and comprehension of a composer by analyzing Hungarian Rhapsody by F. Liszt that writer played as a graduation recital.
