다발성골수종 환자의 건강증진행위에 미치는 영향요인

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the factors influencing health promoting behavior (HPB) after analyzing the relationship between perceived health status, health locus of control, self-esteem, self-efficacy and HPB in patients with multiple myeloma.

Methods: A total of 100 patients were recruited into the study. The data were collected by personal interviews using questionnaires. The data and were analyzed with SPSS program which was used for descriptive statistics, Pearson’s correlation coefficients and stepwise multiple regression analysis.

Results: There was a significant relationship between perceived health status (r=.532, p<.001), health locus of control (r=.431, p<.001), self-esteem (r=.782, p<.001), self-efficacy (r=.681, p<.001) and HPB. Significant factors were self-esteem, perceived health status, health locus of control and self-efficacy that explained 69% of HPB.

Conclusion: As the factors explaining HPB in patients with multiple myeloma have been identified as perceived health status, health locus of control, self-esteem, and self-efficacy. Especially self-esteem was an important variables to the HPB. Health promotion program designed for this population should focus on these factors for effective health promotion behavior.
