당초문양을 응용한 머리 장신구 개발 연구

Abstract

Man is different from animals in that man uses tools and the culture which is the material product of mankind is used by tools. Crafts were begun from the moment when man used tools and developed with society by the various reasons including religious, practical and aesthetic ones. Nature has a variety of craft materials and man uses each material according to its use and has close relationship to crafts. Craft was originated in man's primitive instinct, but its future advances in man's richness and desire. Precious metal craft is mixed with aesthetic, technical and industrial factors. In particular, ornaments playing aesthetic and symbolic functions of wealth such as necklace, bracelet and ear rings have been greatly developed. Although hair ornaments are dominated by women, they seem to be neglected in modern times. Thus this study is to examine hair ornaments which have been neglected because of their territorial limitations to jewel. This study gives a new formation and function to ornamental hairpin, Tteoljam and Cheopji (a kind of ornamental hairpin) and chignon ornament which can represent traditional sentiment and beautiful image of Korean people to create our unique hair ornaments. For these, it recomposes conventional designs based on arabesque design showing Korean beauty and intends to express living nature with sophisticated techniques. Splendid colors before losing beautiful colors of fallen petal are expressed to a variety of jewels including silver, jade, pearl and diamond and new works will be developed by utilizing and research production techniques in the process of making works to express a beautiful figure of woman with variety of forms and movements.
