Abstract
The purpose of this study is to identify the relationship between sexual knowledge, sexual attitudes and sexual experiences as regards problem behaviors in high school boy students.
The subjects were 546 boys high schools students in 2 high schools in Gwang-ju. The data were collected from september 15 to 25, 2005. A structured questionnaire was used that included measurement of general characteristics, sexual knowledge, sexual Attitudes, risk behaviors and sexual experiences. The data were processed with the SPSS WIN program, which uses descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, principal component analysis, and Pearson's correlation coefficients
The result of this research are summarized as follows:
1. The problem behaviors degree of object people appeared, pornographic material contact experience 94.4%, drinking experience 47.1%, smoking experience 30.4%, entrance VIDEO-BANG experience 12.1%, relationships with the opposite sex experience 53.5%, to meet -ⅳ-relationships with the opposite sex using phone-ting and internet chatting 20.8%, running away experience 19.8%.
2. There was statistically significant difference in the sexual experience depending upon exposure to pornographic material, drinking, smoking, and running away from home.
2. The mean score of sexual knowledge are 0.60 among examination marks of mean 1 perfect score.
3. The mean score of permissible types, conservative types and pleasure seeking types are 3.889, 3.048, and 2.703 respectively.
4. The mean score of sexual experience appeared 0.75.
5. There was statistically significant difference in sexual knowledge and problem behavior by pornographic material contact experiences(t=5.220, p=.000), and runaway experiences (t=-3.514, p=.000),
6. The score of permissible types was significantly different depending upon pornographic material contact(t=-3.132, p=.002). The score of conservative types was significantly different depending upon drinking experience(t=2.755, p=.006), relationships with the opposite sex experience(t=2.031, p=.004). The score of pleasure seeking types was significantly different depending upon drinking experience(t=2.419, p=.016) smoking experience(t=2.284, p=.023), relationships with the opposite sex experience(t=2.889, p=.004, and relationships with the opposite sex experience using phone-ting and internet chatting(t=2.576, p=.010).
7. There was statistically significant difference in sexual experience and problem behavior by pornographic material contact(t=3.060, p=.002), drink experience(t=13.394, p=.000), smoking experience(t=14.228, p=.000), running away experience(t=9.819, p=.000), VIDEO-BANG experience(t=9.750, p=.000), relationships with the opposite sex experience(t=16.297, p=.000), relationships with the opposite sex experience using phone-ting and internet chatting(t=5.721, p=.000).-ⅴ-
8. Permissible types has a negative relationship with sexual knowledge (r=-.136, p=.002), conservative types has a positive relationship with sexual experience (r=.377, p=.000), and pleasure seeking types has a positive relationship with sexual experience(r=.325, p=.000).
Based on the finding of this study, I suggest continuous research and sex education will be necessary about problem behavior, knowledge of sexual matters, sexual attitude and sexual experience of boys high school students.
