온라인 영어사전을 활용한 학습활동이 중학생의 영어어휘학습과 흥미도에 미치는 효과

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of learners' learning activities using online dictionaries on vocabulary learning and interest of middle school students. To this end, a basic survey was conducted on a total of 8 middle school students in G city, and a survey was conducted which contained 5 questions on the attitudes toward pre- and post-vocabulary evaluation and English vocabulary learning, 5 questions of interest, and 5 questions of attitude toward pre-use. The results are as follows.
First, the online English dictionary had a higher post-correct answer rate than the dictionary, so learning activities using the online English dictionary had a positive effect on English vocabulary. Second, learners' attitude toward English vocabulary learning was analyzed by the effect of learning the collocation relationship of vocabulary due to the increase in average value in question 5 'I want to learn how to express English words in sentences', and question 14 also showed a positive effect on the importance of pronunciation. Third, regarding learners' interest in English, the response rate increased in all questions. Especially, the question I like to learn new English expressions. It is analyzed that the reason why the response rate of ' was the highest is that using dictionaries was very helpful when learning vocabulary through dictionary vocabulary classes. On the other hand, in the results of previous studies, the response rate of question 13 'I think English is easier than other subjects' decreased. The reason for this was that online dictionary-based vocabulary learning activities knew the depth of vocabulary learning and range. Fourth, regarding learners' attitudes toward using English dictionaries, the average value of question 15 'I want to use an English dictionary explained only in English' has increased, and it can be analyzed that monolingual dictionaries are recognized as effective for vocabulary learning. In addition, the average value of question 6 'I want to learn how to use English dictionaries' has also increased, and it can be explained that learners are aware of the need for prior use education. This is consistent with the part where the value of the average difference in the same question increased compared to the results of previous studies. In conclusion, it was verified that vocabulary learning using dictionaries has a positive effect on English vocabulary learning and interest.
