녹색 의생활 교육프로그램이 환경의식과 의복 소비 행동에 미치는 영향

Abstract

This study was intended to investigate the effects of green clothes attitude education program developed around technology and home economics subjects on environmental consciousness and clothing consumption behavior that can be implemented in conjunction with real life on middle school students who have become independent consumers from the influence of their parents based on the contents obtained by analyzing previous studies and relevant literature.

26 female students from one 1st-grade class of middle school free-year topic selection program of D Girl's Middle School located in Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City were selected as the subject of this study. First, this study selected specific and realistic goals that can be applied in real life by considering the developmental stage of first-grade students in middle school to develop the green clothes attitude education program. Therefore, this study established an operational plan, teaching·learning methods, and data production and evaluation plan after selecting the contents, learning topic, and learning objective of green clothes attitude education program through precedent studies and related literature. This study applied total 16 sessions of green clothes attitude education program every Wednesday for eight weeks from 4th week of October to 3rd week of December using the hours of free-year topic selection program. The results of quantitative data obtained in the course of this study were analyzed and processed using SPSS 26.0 Statistical Program, and analyzed the results qualitatively as well through behavioral observation, portfolio, and review of students to supplement the limitations of quantitative analysis by measurement tools.

The comprehensive conclusions obtained from this study are as follows. The developed green clothes attitude education program can be applied on first-year middle school students, average score of environmental consciousness improved by 12.88 points and clothing consumption behavior by 19.19 points than before the green clothes attitude education program was applied, and there was a statistically significant difference at p<.001 level through the pre·post paired t-test. As a result, it was identified that the green clothes attitude education program makes positive effects on environmental consciousness and clothing consumption behavior of middle school students. During the course of the green clothes attitude education program, this study identified that the green clothes attitude education program makes positive effects on changing environmental consciousness and clothing consumption behavior through the changed ideas and behavior of students who recognized that clothing waste can cause serious pollution and intend to reduce it, who purchased clothes simply because they were pretty or just because they were in fashion but will purchase clothes that they can wear even when they are out of style after attending the class, who promised to reduce waste by finding ways to consistently practice in real life for the environment as reducing the use of disposable products and separate garbage better, and who did not have interest in the class because they did not know green clothing but learned the meaning and felt the necessity of green clothing through the green clothes attitude education program. Also, this was an opportunity to recognize that human beings are the cause of environmental problems and each of our actions is closely related, and came to think that efforts should be made to practice environmentally friendly consumption of clothing by reflecting on our behavior.

Humans have interdependent relationship with the environment because we are organically intertwined with the environment. The life pertaining to clothes and clothing, one of the most important activities in human life today, is causing a lot of environmental pollution from raw material production to disposal, and the output of the generations living today will be inherited by future generations. Therefore, we need to practice the green life pertaining to clothes and clothing for both future generations and the environment. In this regard, in-depth research on green clothes attitude education program and systematic teaching and learning activity are needed.| 본 연구는 부모의 영향에서 벗어나 독립적인 소비 주체가 된 중학생들을 대상으로 선행연구 및 관련 문헌을 분석하여 얻은 내용을 토대로 기술·가정 교과 중심으로 개발된 녹색 의생활 교육프로그램을 적용하여 환경의식과 실생활에서 연계하여 실천할 수 있는 의복 소비 행동에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고자 하였다.

광주광역시 남구 소재 D여자중학교 1학년 자유학년제 주제선택 프로그램 1개 학급 26명의 여학생을 연구 대상으로 선정하였다. 먼저 녹색 의생활 교육프로그램 개발을 위해 중학교 1학년 학습자의 발달단계를 고려하여 실생활에 적용 가능한 구체적이고 현실적인 목표를 설정하였다. 이에 선행연구와 관련 문헌을 통해 녹색 의생활 교육프로그램의 내용 및 학습주제, 학습 목표를 선정한 후 적용을 위한 운영 계획과 교수·학습 방법 및 자료 제작, 평가 계획까지 수립하였다. 자유학년제 주제선택 프로그램 시간을 활용하여 2019년 10월 4주부터 12월 3주까지 8주 동안 매주 수요일 2차시 총 16차시 녹색 의생활 교육프로그램을 적용하였다. 연구 과정에서 얻어진 정량적 자료는 SPSS 26.0 통계 프로그램을 이용하여 결과를 분석·처리하였고, 측정 도구에 의한 정량적 분석의 한계를 보완하기 위해 학생들의 행동 관찰 및 포트폴리오, 활동 소감문 등을 통해 정성적으로도 분석하였다. 본 연구를 통해 얻은 종합적인 결론은 다음과 같다. 개발된 녹색 의생활 교육프로그램을 중학교 1학년에게 적용할 수 있으며 녹색 의생활 교육프로그램 적용 전보다 평균점수가 환경의식은 12.88점, 의복 소비 행동은 19.19점 향상된 결과를 얻었으며, 사전·사후 대응표본 t-검증을 통해 p<.001 수준에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보였다. 이로 인해 녹색 의생활 교육프로그램이 중학생들의 환경의식과 의복 소비 행동에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 녹색 의생활 교육프로그램을 진행하는 동안 학생들의 행동 관찰과 포트폴리오, 활동 소감문을 통해 의류 폐기물이 심각한 오염을 줄 수 있다는 것을 인식하여 이를 줄이기 위해 노력하겠다는 학생, 옷을 구매할 때 그냥 예뻐서 또는 유행이라는 이유만으로 구매했지만, 수업을 듣고 난 후 유행이 지나도 입을 수 있는 옷을 구매하겠다는 학생, 평소 환경을 생각하며 일회용품 사용을 줄이고 분리수거를 잘하겠다는 등 환경을 위해 꾸준히 실생활에서 실천할 수 있는 방법을 찾아 발표하며 다짐하는 학생, 녹색 의생활을 몰라 수업에 흥미가 없었는데 녹색 의생활 교육프로그램을 통해 녹색 의생활의 의미와 필요성을 느끼며 이를 실천해야 한다는 학생들의 달라진 생각과 행동을 보며 녹색 의생활 교육프로그램이 환경의식과 의복 소비 행동 변화에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한, 환경 문제들이 발생하는 원인이 인간이며, 우리의 행동 하나하나 밀접한 연관이 있음을 인식할 수 있는 계기가 되었고 우리들의 모습을 반성하며 의복을 친환경적으로 소비하는 행동을 실천하기 위한 노력이 필요하다는 생각을 지니게 된 것을 볼 수 있었다.

인간은 환경과 유기적으로 서로 얽혀 있어 상호 의존적 관계이다. 오늘날 인간이 살아감에 있어 중요한 활동 중 하나인 의생활은 원료 생산에서부터 폐기 과정까지 많은 환경오염이 발생하고 있으며, 현재 살아가고 있는 세대들의 결과물은 미래 세대가 그대로 물려받게 된다. 그러므로 우리는 미래 세대와 환경 모두를 위한 녹색 의생활을 실천해야 한다. 이와 관련하여 녹색 의생활 교육프로그램과 체계적인 교수·학습 활동의 깊이 있는 연구가 계속 필요하다.
