문학치료를 활용한 문학교육 방법 연구

Abstract

This study aims to search for the educational methods concerning the growth novel, based on the literature therapy in school reality. Literature therapy, called for the psychological therapy based on the literature’s therapy, is mainly the therapy using the language tools such as reading and writing. Literature therapy, whose goal is contributing to the humanism development through the human’s psychological relief and cure, has a value to adapt it to the educational method in practical literature educational environment, and it corresponds to the educational aims. Literature therapy received and developed based on the foundations of various theories focuses on drawing individual’s attention regarding the literature as a tool of self-reflection. In this respect, the most important thing in the establishment of the literature therapy classroom design is selecting the work as a theme. The growth novel which describes the main character’s growing process has an advantage for the readers to feel empathy while reading how the main characters force the conflicts and tackle the problems. However, it is sorry that the extent to adapt the growth novels into the practical literature education is not as much as they are guaranteed to influence on the students’ educational improvement positively. This thesis shows the literature therapy classroom design based on ‘Chinese Street’ by Oh Jung-hee and ‘Isolated room’ by Shin Kyung-sook. Focusing on understanding the works, it constructed the learner’s stream of consciousness, from self-recognition to self-reflection to negotiation to self-integration to self acceptance. As a result, it turned out that the learners were about to expand their understanding toward themselves and they acquired the positive ego, compromising negative memories in the past. Such literature therapy design is regarded as a way of teenagers’ internal development. In addition, it suggests that students can improve their attitude to accept the literature and the ability to read and express the literature. Also, as for student-centered model, it was ensured that the literature therapy method works when it connects to the literature eduction in that the students internalize their literatures actively and seek for the affective domain.|이 연구는 학교 현장에서 문학 치료적 방법에 관심을 두고 성장소설을 제재로 하는 교육 방법을 모색하고 그 의의를 확인하는 것을 목표로 한다. 문학치료는 문학의 치유성에 뿌리를 두고 치유하는 심리치료를 일컫는 것으로, 주로 읽기와 쓰기 등의 언어를 매개로 하는 치료 방식을 말한다. 인간의 심리 정서적 안정과 치유를 통해 전인적인 발달을 돕는 것을 목표로 하는 문학치료는, 문학교육 현장에서 교육 방법으로서 적용할 만한 가치가 있으며, 교육의 목표와 궁극적으로 일맥상통한다. 다양한 학문의 이론적인 토대 위에 수용되고 발전되어온 문학치료는 문학을 자아발견의 도구로 삼으며, 개개인의 반응을 이끌어내는데 관심을 둔다. 이러한 점을 생각할 때, 문학 치료적 수업모형을 설계함에 있어서 무엇보다 중요한 것은 제재로서의 작품 선정이다. 주인공의 성장의 시기를 다루는 성장소설은, 성장의 갈등과 그 해결 양상을 포함하는 서사로, 학습자가 쉽게 공감하거나 감정을 이입할 수 있는 이점이 있다. 교육 내용으로서 성장소설은 그 교육적 가치가 높다는 연구가 많았음에도 현재 문학 교육에서 다루는 비중이 충분하지 않으며, 현재 학교에서 교육하는 방식으로 인해 그 가치가 실현되고 있지 못한 점은 아쉬운 일이다. 본고는 성장소설 작품 중 오정희의 ｢중국인 거리｣와 신경숙의 󰡔외딴방󰡕을 제재로 하는 문학 치료적 수업 모형을 제시하였다. 작품이해를 토대로 학습자의 자기인식- 자기 성찰- 상호교섭과 자기 통합- 자기 수용에 이르는 과정을 구안하였다. 그 결과 학습자가 자신에 대한 이해의 확장을 꾀하였으며, 부정적인 기억으로 남아있는 과거 경험과 화해하며 긍정적인 자아개념을 획득하는 양상을 확인하였다. 이러한 문학 치료적 모형은 청소년 학습자의 정서함양을 위한 방법으로서 의의가 있으며, 학습자가 문학을 수용하고 자신을 성찰하며 태도의 변화 등, 내적 성장에 이른다는 점에서 의미가 있다고 하겠다. 또한 학습자 중심의 수업모델을 구체적으로 보여주는 것으로서, 학습자가 문학작품을 주체적으로 내면화하는 다양한 방법을 제시하여 문학체험을 확장하게 한다는 점에서도 의의가 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.
