태권도 지도자의 지도유형이 초등학교 수련생의 인성발달에 미치는 영향

Abstract

This study aimed to understand the influence of Taekwondo instructors' instruction types on the personality development of elementary school trainees by largely dividing their instruction type into an absolutistic type, democratic type, and faire type. As currently, children occupy the high rate of trainees in Taekwondo studio, the instructors' influence has been extended to diverse areas. Thus, the necessity and objective of this study are to provide basic data for useful information about instructors' attitude to maximize the personality development of trainees by analyzing the influence of instruction types on the personality development of trainees. This study set up the background variables(demographic characteristics of trainees) as sex and degree of training(geup & poom), the independent variable as instructors' instruction type, and the dependent variable as six sub-factors of personality development. Selecting five Taekwondo studios out of ones registered in Gwangju Taekwondo Association, the questionnaires were distributed to total 221 targets through the stratified cluster random sampling of 40 people from each group. The collected data was analyzed through frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, mean, standard deviation, t-test, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The conclusion of this study is like below. First, the elementary school trainees valued the democratic type the highest among instructors' instruction types while the faire and absolutistic types were valued relatively low. Regarding variables of the personality development of trainees, self-esteem was the highest, which showed the priority cognizing the personality development of elementary school trainees. Second, regarding the cognition of instruction types in accordance with trainees' sex, there were significant differences in the faire type while female trainees' cognition was higher than male trainees'. In case of the cognition of the personality development variables, there were significant differences in confidence and self-esteem while female trainees' cognition of both variables was higher than male trainees'. Third, in the results of comparing the cognition of instruction types depending on lower grades and upper grades, differences in each variable of instruction types were not significant. Regarding the personality development variables, the lower grades showed higher etiquettes than the upper grades. Fourth, the degree of training was divided into trainees with geup certificate and trainees with poom certificate. Each variable of instruction types did not have significant differences in the degree of training. However, the personality development showed significant differences in self-esteem while trainees with poom certificate were higher than trainees with geup certificate. Fifth, the influence factors of each variable of the personality development and instruction types were analyzed. In the results, among instruction types, the democratic type had positive influence on confidence, self-esteem, patience, and etiquette while the absolutistic type had negative influence on concentration. The leadership was not significantly influenced by any of the instruction types. Thus, this study has established the basic foundation of relations between Taekwondo instructors' instruction types and personality development. Therefore, when the communication method following the results of this study is applied to the actual site, there would be more mutually positive influence on instructing Taekwondo trainees.|본 연구는 태권도 지도자의 지도유형을 크게 전제형, 민주형, 방임형으로 구분하여 이러한 각각의 지도유형이 초등학교 수련생의 인성발달 요소에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위한 연구이다. 오늘날 아동이 태권도장의 수련생 중 높은 비율을 차지하고 있음에 따라 지도자의 영향력은 다양한 방면으로 그 영역이 확대되었다. 그러므로 지도유형이 수련생의 인성발달에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가를 분석함으로써, 수련생의 인성발달을 극대화하기 위해 지도자가 어떠한 자세를 가져야 하는가에 대한 유용한 정보와 수련생 지도육성에 기초 자료를 제시하는데 본 연구의 필요성과 목적이 있다. 연구는 수련생의 인구통계학적 특성인 배경 변인을 성별, 수련정도(급·품)로 설정하였고, 독립 변인은 지도자의 지도유형으로, 종속 변인은 인성발달 하위요인 6가지로 설정하였다. 연구대상은 광주광역시 태권도 협회에 등록된 태권도장을 모집단으로 설정하였고, 그 중 5개 태권도장을 선정하였으며, 각 집단에서 40명을 유층집락무선표집하여 총 221명을 분석대상으로 선정하여 조사도구로 설문지를 사용하였다. 자료처리 방법으로 빈도분석, 요인분석, 신뢰도 검증, 평균, 표준편차, t-test, 상관관계분석, 다중회귀분석으로 통해 분석하여 결론을 도출하였다. 본 연구의 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초등학교 수련생들은 지도자의 지도유형 중 민주형을 가장 높게 평가했고, 방임형, 전제형은 상대적으로 낮게 평가하였다. 수련생의 인성발달 변수는 자아존중감이 가장 높은 수준으로 나타나 초등학교 수련생들의 인성발달을 인식하는 우선순위를 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 수련생 성별에 따른 지도유형 인식에서는 방임형에 대해 유의한 차이를 보였고 남자가 여자보다 더 높고 인식했다. 인성발달 변인 인식은 자신감, 자아존중감에서 유의한 차이를 보였고, 두 가지 변인 모두 여자가 더 높은 인식율을 보였다. 셋째, 저학년과 고학년으로 구분한 학년별 지도유형 인식 비교에서는 지도유형 각 변수의 차이가 유의하지 않았다. 인성발달 변인에서는 예절성에서 저학년이 고학년보다 높았다. 넷째, 수련생의 수련정도는 유급자와 유품자로 구분하였다. 지도유형 각 변수는 수련정도별로 차이가 유의하지 않았으나, 인성발달은 변인 중 자아존중감에서 유의한 차이를 보였으며 유품자가 유급자보다 높았다. 다섯째, 지도유형과 인성발달 각 변수의 영향요인을 분석하였다. 그 결과 지도유형 가운데 민주형이 자신감, 자아존중감, 인내성, 예절성에 긍정적인 영향을 주었으며, 전제형이 집중력에 부정적인 영향을 주었고 리더십은 모든 지도유형의 영향력이 유의하지 않았다. 따라서 본 연구를 통해 일선 태권도 지도자의 지도유형과 인성발달의 관계에 대한 기초토대를 마련하였다. 그러므로 연구결과에 따른 의사소통방식을 실제 현장에 적용한다면 태권도 지도자들이 수련생들을 지도하는데 있어서 상호 간 보다 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 것으로 판단된다.
