팝아트 활용을 통한 색채표현능력 향상방안 연구

Abstract

Visual images in this age are called visual information and the cultural age has become an important part of this society. Colors as an element which show visual images most effectively are in the center. Such colors have influence on human emotions through their richness and colorfulness, and the energy that colors have are unique and diverse. Energy and emotional delivery by colors is a means of expressing characteristics and an important bridge connecting members in our society. Colors are considered to be connected with all the elements in our life and when they are used effectively, a more abundant and beautiful life can be achieved. However, no organized instruction on colors and diverse experiences of colors have been made in art programs for middle schools. This study aims to help students have diverse experiences of colors not nurturing art experts, and stimulate their emotional aspects so that they are able to express what they feel using visual language and image efficiently. Therefore, this study recognized the necessity of color education based on the current status of color education in middle school, and presented an effective teaching and learning method to activate color sense. Chapter 1 presented the necessity, purpose, content and method of this study. Chapter 2 examined the background and characteristics of pop art and the characteristics of color expression in pop art based on references and previous studies. Chapter 3 analysed the concepts of colors, the educational value of a color expression program, and the current status of teaching color expression in an art program for middle schools. Then, middle school students were interviewed with the use of a questionnaire on their understanding of colors and interest in art programs using pop art. As a result, it was discovered that many students recognized colors are important in our lives, but their interest in colors was low because there was no interest. Chapter 4 presented a teaching plan on colors using pop art based on the results presented in Chapter 3. The teaching plan was composed of expressive activities in pop art to facilitate understanding of composition and classification of colors, the three primary colors and coloration to the use category of colors. First, the [Creative Expression Using Collage] program presented a collage activity through which students compose colors based on their understanding of basic color theory and classify them according to their nature. Second, the [Expressing a Cartoon Image with Small Dots] program provided time for free expression through which students can understand the three primary colors and coloration, have their fears about expression using vivid colors removed, and can express what they feel through an emotionally easy approach. This study speculated on a teaching method to lead students to have confidence in the use of colors based on their recognition on the importance of a color expression program, and it is expected that further research should be made in diverse ways for better art education.

| 시각정보문화시대라 불리는 시대에서 시각이미지는 사회의 중요한 일부가 되었다. 시각이미지를 가장 잘 보여주는 요소로서 색채는 그 중심에 있다고 볼 수 있는데, 이러한 색채는 풍부하고 화려한 색으로 인간의 정서에 영향을 끼치며 색채가 지닌 에너지는 독창적이며 다양하다. 색이 지닌 에너지와 정서의 전달력은 자기 자신을 드러내는 개성 표현의 수단으로서 사회 구성원들 간의 사이를 잇는 중요한 연결다리가 되었다. 색채는 인간의 일상생활의 전반적인 요소와 관련되어있다고 볼 수 있어 이를 효과적으로 사용했을 시에 더욱 풍요롭고 아름다운 생활을 이룰 수 있다. 그러나 실제 중학교 현장의 미술수업에서는 색채에 대한 지도가 체계적으로 이루어지지 않고 있으며 다양한 색채 경험이 이루어지지 않는 편이다. 본 연구의 취지는 색채교육을 통해 미술 전문가를 육성하자는 것이 아닌 학생 스스로 다양한 색채 경험을 할 수 있게 하고 그러한 색채표현을 통해 학생들의 감성적 측면을 자극하여 시각언어와 이미지를 효율적으로 활용할 수 있는 표현발달을 이룰 수 있도록 하자는 것이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 중학교의 색채교육의 현황을 알아보고 색채교육 지도의 필요성을 인식하고 색채교육을 다양한 표현으로 활성화 시키는데 효과적인 교수·학습 방안을 제시하였다. 이를 위해 다음과 같은 연구가 이루어졌다. 먼저 1장에서는 본 연구의 필요성과 목적, 연구의 내용 및 방법을 제시하였고, 제 2장에서는 참고문헌과 선행 연구를 바탕으로 팝아트의 배경과 특징, 팝아트에 나타난 색채표현 특성을 살펴보았다. 제 3장은 색채의 개념과 색채표현 지도의 교육적 가치 및 중학교 미술교육의 색채표현 지도현황을 분석하였다. 그리고 중학생을 대상으로 설문조사를 진행하여 색채에 대한 전반적인 이해 현황과 팝아트를 적용한 미술수업의 흥미 정도를 조사하였다. 그 결과 중학교 학생들의 많은 수가 색채가 우리 생활에서 중요한 요소라는 것을 인식하고 있지만, 색채 이론에 대한 이해의 어려움과 색채 교육이 학생들의 흥미를 이끌 프로그램과 연계되어 있지 않아 관심이 낮은 편이었다. 제4장에서는 3장을 토대로 팝아트를 활용한 색채표현 지도 방안을 제시하였다. 수업지도안은 색채의 활용 범주에 따라 ‘색의 구성과 분류, 색의 3원색과 색채, 색채표현, 색채와 정보’로 분류하여 그에 맞는 팝아트의 표현 양식을 표현활동으로 구성하여 색채를 쉽게 이해하고 표현할 수 있도록 하였다. 첫째, [콜라주를 활용한 창의적 표현]은 기본적인 색채 이론의 이해를 바탕으로 색을 구성하고, 색이 지니는 성격에 따라 분류할 수 있도록 콜라주 활동으로 제시하였다. 둘째, [망점으로 만화이미지 표현하기]는 색의 3원색과 색채에 대한 이해를 중심으로 내용을 구성하고, 원색에 대한 표현의 두려움을 없애고 정서적으로 쉬운 접근을 통해 자유로운 표현을 할 수 있는 시간을 제공하고자 하였다. 셋째, [실크스크린 모노타입을 활용한 엽서 만들기]는 자신만의 개성 있는 색채를 단 하나의 작품을 위하여 색채 사용을 계획할 수 있는 학습지도안을 제시하였다. 넷째, [레터링&그라피토를 이용한 광고디자인]은 색채가 지닌 특성과 대중 매체인 광고를 통해 목적에 맞도록 의도된 색채를 표현할 수 있도록 제시하였다. 본 연구는 색채표현 교육의 중요성을 인식하고 학생들이 색채의 사용에 자신감을 가질 수 있는 지도 방법에 대한 연구이며 색채교육이 활성화되고 다양한 방식의 후속 연구가 이루어져 질적으로 향상된 미술수업이 이루어질 수 있는 계기가 마련될 수 있기를 기대한다.
