ABSTRACT

The Study of the Improvement within the Operation for Transition Education Support Center, and Teachers’ Perspective

The Department of Education and the Regional Education Office have been operating upon the role of special education schools, classes, and community education. The Support Agency in charge of the vocational education of the students with disabilities has fourteen installations. They were responsible for the improvement of reality and perception of the special education teachers. Two different surveys were handed out. The 14 installations each received one survey; and a total of 35 workers received an individual survey. 100% of the surveys were returned and analyzed. The results of the study obtained through the findings are as follows:
First, the transition education was molded for the disabled education schools. There are two kinds of assistance that are offered. One is the employment assistance and the second is vocational education. Teachers working within the career center belong to the disabled education department. Incentives are not being offered for the participation. The career center overflows beyond the borders and it is not clearly governed the local department of education. The superintendent of the provincial education has authority over it. The financial aid depends where the career center is located. Opening a program within the center selects and provides the educational support center and reflects the views of the various members who surround it.
Second, transition education training support for the teachers showed a range from normal to higher levels. Most of the teachers are content with the programs and practical use of the up-to-date facilities has been offering. Teachers are content with the level of education given to the disabled. They are also content with the development and end-results of the program. The teachers agree the teaching program that is provided for them to teach the disabled students is the correct form of teaching. According to their survey the students are considered by their aptitudes, interests, and level of disability. The teacher’s cooperate with each other. Teachers are provided information on careers and employment from coworkers and the community center for the disabled. Most teachers were satisfied with the support within their job. There are two things which have stood above the rest within the program. They offer various job education opportunities for the disabled and provide them to experience different jobs. Moreover, it seems they are satisfied with the operation of the transition center
Third, the support center recognized the need for improvement within the education and career transition center. The job related information for the disabled and exchange service is incomplete. The lack of incentive and legal backing for the workforce training was recognized as the biggest problem. The solution seems to provide incentives for participation and staff resources. In addition, in order to promote awareness for the transition program across the country we hope to establish support centers across the country and an integrated website.
