Abstract
This paper presents a systematic study to help to increase the efficiency of Taekwondo instructions and the game performance of players by investigating the connections between achievement goal orientation and the success and failure attributions of self-management strategy and sport confidence among Taekwondo players, analyzing psychological factors to predict the match results concerning success and failure, and providing both instructors and players with information appropriate for game situations in the field of Taekwondo. In an effort to fulfill the objectives, the investigator sampled total 1,013 male and female high school, college, and general Taekwondo players registered at game organizations under the Korea Taekwondo Association in 2013. Collected data were treated with reliability analysis, factor analysis, independent-sample t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe post-hoc test, and stepwise regression analysis. Those research procedures led to the following conclusions:

First, female Taekwondo players scored higher mean points on task goal orientation, one of the subfactors of achievement goal orientation, than their male counterparts with statistically significant differences between them.

Second, the analysis results of differences in self-management strategy according to gender and the team reveal statistically significant differences in all the subfactors of self-management strategy, which include body, mind, training, and interpersonal management, according to gender.

Third, there were statistically significant differences only in demonstration of competence, one of the subfactors of sport confidence, according to gender and the team.

Fourth, there were statistically significant differences in the condition and match luck, some of the subfactors of success attributions, according to gender and the team. Significant differences were found only in the bad condition, one of the subfactors of failure attributions, according to gender. There were statistically significant differences in conceit and mental power, some of the subfactors of failure attributions, according to the team but not in the bad condition.

Fifth, the stepwise regression analysis results of the impacts of achievement goal orientation on self-management strategy among Korean Taekwondo players show that achievement goal orientation had statistically significant impacts on all the subfactors of self-management strategy, namely, body, mind, training, and interpersonal management.

Sixth, the stepwise regression analysis results of the effects of achievement goal orientation on sport confidence among Korean Taekwondo players show that achievement goal orientation had statistically significant effects on all the subfactors of sport confidence, namely, demonstration of competence, coaching instruction skills, and body and mind preparation.

Seventh, the stepwise regression analysis results of the influences of achievement goal orientation on the success attributions among Korean Taekwondo players indicate that achievement goal orientation had statistically significant influence on mental power, condition, and match luck among the subfactors of the success attributions. The stepwise regression analysis results of the influences of achievement goal orientation on the failure attributions indicate that achievement goal orientation had statistically significant influences on conceit, lower mental power, and bad condition among the subfactors of the failure attributions.

Eighth, the stepwise regression analysis results of the effects of self-management strategy on the success attributions among Korean Taekwondo players show that self-management strategy had statistically significant effects on mental power, condition, and match luck. The stepwise regression analysis results of the impacts of self-management strategy on the failure attributions among Korean Taekwondo players show that self-management strategy had statistically significant impacts on conceit, lower mental power, and bad condition.

Finally, the stepwise regression analysis results of the influences of sport confidence on the success attributions among Korean Taekwondo players show that sport confidence had statistically significant influences on mental power, condition, and match luck. The stepwise regression analysis results of the influences of sport confidence on the failure attributions among Korean Taekwondo players reveal that sport confidence had statistically significant influences on conceit, lower mental power, and bad condition.
