Abstract
Music is a subject which is necessary for emotional and personal cultivation of human beings and cannot be removed from our daily life. According to the current curriculum, music in secondary education applied from the previous year to the present is based on the intensive course completion system. As a result, while it was considered impossible to provide an intensive music course over two or three semesters or one academic year, in reality, music education is provided with all the strengths and weaknesses as mentioned. This being said, it is necessary to maximize the strengths and understand the necessity and importance of music.
While the trend in education that combines music with various areas is prominent, the representative one is the voucher system. Vouchers are closely related to music education. There are diverse areas related to the voucher system, covering education and welfare, culture and arts, housing and welfare, tourism, and sports. Among others, such a combination was highlighted especially in the areas of culture and arts (music, art, physical education, etc.). Hence, students, teachers and parents shall be more interested in them to develop further awareness of the nature and value of 'vouchers'.
This study aims to identify music education programs applying electronic vouchers for social and cultural services issued by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and present diverse points to be improved so that music education can be facilitated at schools and social areas both through the voucher system.
It is hoped that awareness of the importance is promoted among students who are eligible to use the voucher system at schools so that more qualitative, rather than quantitative, development can be achieved.
