Research on Effective Dan-So Education for
Middle School Students.

Dan-So is one of most generalized Korean traditional instruments which is easy to carry and play. Despite of this, Dan-So education is not well developed for middle school curriculum.
This situation is caused by the absence of organized education system of Dan-So as well as school teachers' unconcern on Korean classical music.
The difficulties of playing and the absence of well-organized education should be the main reasons why Dan-So education has been neglected so far. At this research, I'm going to present an "effective Dan-So education method for middle school students" to improve this situation. It starts from the very elementary educational basis and proceeds step by step.
Systematic educational solutions are presented as ; musical scale instructions at the elementary 1st step, sound-making instructions at the
2nd & 3rd step, how-to-play at the 4th step, how-to-read ‘Jung-Gan-Bo’ at the 5th step, and more sophisticated play by adding sings and marks at the 6th step.
These 6 steps are designed for 2 times lessons per week. I wish this research could activate better Dan-So education through easier & more interesting instructions.
