아동미술교육을 위한 미술치료 프로그램 적용 효과에 관한 연구

Abstract

현대 아동은 급변하는 사회구조에 따라 새로운 환경에 적응하는데 보다 큰 스트레스를 받고 있다. 아동기의 지나친 스트레스는 자칫 아동의 인성, 생활습관, 건강까지 황폐화 시키고 결국 정서적인 문제를 일으키게 되어 사회문제로까지 확산되고 있다. 하지만 지식전달위주의 우리나라교육 현실에서는 아직도 아동의 정서교육에 대한 중요성을 간과하고 있는 실정이다. 이에 미술교육은 언어적 표현이 미숙한 아동에게 간접적으로 감정을 표현하여 정서적 안정감과 순화를 도와줄 수 있어 그 중요성이 더욱 절실한 시기라고 본다. 창의적인 미술활동은 다양한 재료의 경험으로 환경을 즐겁게 탐구하고 발견하며 스스로 선택하고 제작하는 과정에서 성공감과 성취감을 느끼게 한다. 이러한 올바른 감정의 표출로 아동은 감정이 정화, 순화되는 정서적 치료효과를 갖고 실제 세계에 적용하는데 도움을 주게 된다. 따라서 이제는 미술교육이 미술이라는 매개체를 통해 인성 교육적 측면으로서의 역할을 할 수 있도록 미술 치료적 효과를 바탕으로 한 프로그램을 개발하여 미술교육에 적용할 수 있는 연구가 필요하다고 보겠다. 이에 본 연구는 아동의 정서교육을 위해 미술치료 활용 프로그램을 개발하여 그 효용성을 살펴보고 실제 교육현장에서 활용할 수 있는 방안을 모색해 보았다. 이와 같은 목적을 위해 본 연구의 내용은 다음과 같이 구성하였다. 첫째, 서론에서는 현대 아동에게 정서교육 측면으로서의 미술교육의 중요성을 살펴보고 미술치료 프로그램 활용의 필요성을 제시하였다. 둘째, 이론적 배경에서는 아동미술교육과 미술치료의 이론적 바탕을 살펴보고 검토함으로써 미술교육과 미술치료의 접점을 고찰하였다. 셋째, 미술치료 프로그램 활용 방법연구를 위하여 본 연구자가 제시한 프로그램을 1차, 2차, 3차에 걸쳐 8-11세 아동에게 실시하고 관찰 기록하여 회기별, 차시별 고찰을 하였다. 넷째, 결론에서는 미술치료 프로그램을 실시하여 나타난 관찰내용과 결과를 통해 미술교육에서의 새로운 교육방향을 제시하기위한 제안과 시사점을 모색하였다.|In modern society, children face heavy pressure due to fast-changing social structure when they adapt themselves to new environments. In early childhood, excessive stress is likely to result in deteriorating children's personality, life habits and even health and eventually triggering emotional problems, which is viewed as one of grave social problems. Yet the importance of emotional education for children is still overlooked in our country where just knowledge-centered education is prevailing. Under the circumstances, the importance of art education is increasingly stressed, since that makes it possible for children who don't yet get used to expressing themselves through language to represent their feelings in a secondhand manner and thereby contributes to their emotional stability and cleansing. Creative art activities enables children to explore the environments around them with delight by being exposed to a variety of materials, and they feel they did something worthwhile by choosing particular materials and making art works from the selected materials. Such an opportunity for emotional display has an effect on stepping up their emotional cleansing and treatment, which is conducive to their daily routine lives. Therefore intensive research efforts should be channeled into developing art therapy programs and applying them to art education so that art education could contribute to personality education through the medium of art. The purpose of this study was to develop an art therapy program geared toward improving emotional education for children and to explore ways of applying it to school education. The following efforts were made in this study to serve the purpose: First, the importance of art education for modern children as a sort of emotional education was discussed in the introduction, and the need for the utilization of art therapy programs was suggested. Second, theories of child art education and art therapy were investigated to consider how to combine art education and art therapy. Third, children aged between 8 and 11 participated in a program presented in this study three times, and all the process was observed and recorded to look for their changes in every session to find out in which way the art therapy program should be utilized. Fourth, there were some suggestions in the segment of conclusion about new directions for art education based on the findings of the study.
