Abstract
Not everyone can be a teacher. To become a teacher, you need to have advanced professional knowledge and skills, and even special insight and attitude about the society and humanity. Therefore, most of the countries train teachers through a long-term education of national level and grant them official certificates verifying them as educational experts. You can never overemphasize the importance of teachers when it comes to education.
It is stressed more in dramatically changing modern society which is undergoing informatization and globalization. Arguments regarding teacher's specificity and reform of teacher training system have occurred each time when there were some changes in educational environment or social demands. 'The 7th National Curriculum reform plan' was announced on the basis of the problems occurred in process of the 7th National Curriculum for last 10 years and courses of reform on last February 28th, 2007. The reform in the 7th National Curriculum is made to reflect the demands from the nation, society, and the academic world; as well as from the students. Above all, it is based on the proper prediction about the imminent change in the future society.
In this study, I look into the current Society teacher training system to cultivate the best Society teachers based on the 7th National Curriculum reform, and then propose plans to improve the Society teacher training system through the following process.
First, I'll consider the meaning of Society education and specificity of Society teachers after analyzing the preceding researches, and study the current 7th Society Curriculum. Second, I'll research the status in the current Society teacher training system and address the follow-up problems. In addition, I'll compare them with the foreign countries' cases. Third, I'll bring up some plans for improvement based on the present status in the Society teacher training system and the analyzation of the problems.
I performed this study mainly focused on documents study methods which collect relevant documents and analyze them. I show reform plans based on the Society Curriculum analysis and grasping of the current status in Society teacher training system as follows.
First, reconsidering relevance of Society teacher training system is needed. Also, there is a necessity to develop the contents of the curriculum used in training organizations on a national level.
Second, It is urgent to establish a system to manage the quality of the teacher training. Since many of good students are initiating their teacher training courses recently, introducing more strict quality control system is becoming an urgent matter to improve their expertise which is demanded from the teaching profession.
Third, the field relevance of the teacher training curriculum needs to be improved.
Fourth, to promote the quality and the field relevance of the teacher training curriculum, there is a need to intensify the evaluation system for the teacher training organizations.
