數學史를 活用한 數學敎育의 興味誘發에 관한 硏究

Abstract

There have been efforts to interest students in Mathematics. Among them, making students recognize why they study math and how to use it, using the history of mathematics, is suitable for the 7th curriculum that emphasize the value and utility (practicality) of Math. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of applying the history of Mathematics to the first grade middle school curriculum. I believe that doing this will help improve students' interest in Math and most importantly achieve the ultimate purpose in Math education. To test the efficiency of learning the history of mathematics first, I considered the necessity of the introduction of it through literature studies and discussed the importance of math class based on the theories in origin. Second, I discussed the need of the development of the text to use the history of Mathematics in the class. Lastly, I analyzed the historical outline of each unit in the first grade middle school curriculum. And I suggested a few ways to use it in the class in practical. Through this study I know that using the history of Mathematics helps improve students' interest in Math and raise students' learning ability. Now, with the effort of the teachers in the dynamic class we need to make some changes for Math itself and students.
