Abstract

This study is to survey the current referees' acknowledgement toward players and indicate the problems. The referees are working for enhancing the reliability if scoring and for reducing unfair scoring in dance sports. And also this study is for the recovery of confidence and better matches between the referees. The number of participants is 201 except unreliable 29 from the total 230. And the frequency analysis and variant analysis of referees' recognition are performed by the use of SPSS11.0. The conclusion is as follows. 1. In case of different gender, the referees' resognition showed as partial(p<.05). The experience of referees' is lacking(p<.05), negative response toward referees' resognition and morality affect much tothe scoring. 2. In case of the field, the response is close to "Partial"(p<.01) and showed to appeal to influence judgment of referee(p<.01), in the factor, referees' experience and morality the much difference was not found and quite negative. 3. In case of post, the response is close to "Partial"(p<.01), high school, university and normal players response as negative in experience factor(p<.01). Post affect much to Influensing power of scoring. 4. In case of experience of referee, the responses were less than average(p<.001). Except 1 year under experienecd palyer, most of them responsed the lack of experience(p<.001), the factor of morality is negative as experienced(p<.05), influencing power factor appeals to the experienced players. Korean players are not positive in fairness, experience and morality. in no relation with gender, field, post and match experience, almost players responsed referee affect much in scoring. So more detailed scoring method and and transparent, objective scoring method are needed. Since 2003, dance sports got the permit as an affiliated body into KASA and KOC, Its level has been increasing quantitively(40~50 mayches a year) and the high level players have been growing. This means the related referees are not fully to meet their requirements. Now new problems appear and some of them are about referees. of course the criteria to select the referees are based on their ability or experience but it is actually difficult. That is why the trend of distrust is prevalent. So certain requirements like a license for being a referee must be set up by the study of the referee qualification. When it comes to dance sports, people can feel sensitive from the scoring result because it is very fast and the referee must decide immediately during the game. Recently mistakes and fabrications occured in collecting the scoring results caused by unskillfully running the compatition. So scoring criteria should be objective and also adopting the system is welcomed from the advanced countries like England or U.S.A. One of good ways is to seperate the scoring sheets into each parts and the referees into several. And moreover if consistent competition rules are applied through the discussion before the compatition in each organization, It is not only good for the players but also makes the authority of dance sports concrete. I think this is not the best plan but will be a help to advance Korean dance sports by reducing judgemnet disputes having happened in every competion.
