Abstract
The gradual intensification in an inter-generational conflict leads to being prompted a preparation plan, resulting in being magnified the importance of inter-generational integration. The inter-generational education can be taken among the educational approaches that strive for this inter-generational integration. The inter-generational education is being provided mainly targeting toddlers, children, and the elderly generation, thereby needing to be carried out targeting a whole generation including adolescents or youngsters, and middle-aged and elderly groups. Especially, the inter-generational education is needed targeting children or adolescents who will become a potential elderly generation in aging society. Out of it, a negative attitude toward the elderly was shown in adolescence. Thus, the inter-generational education needs to be offered in that period. The inter-generational education, which was developed targeting adolescents, is insufficient. And the inter-generational education, which was exploited by systematically analyzing adolescents' demand, is incomplete as well.
Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to suggest basic data necessary for effectively implementing inter-generational education for adolescents, through grasping adolescents' recognition and needs of inter-generational education. To do this, the aim is to seek implications for vitalizing inter-generational education through analyzing what the inter-generational education is and what the adolescents are requesting as inter-generational education. The following are the research problems that were established in order to achieve the objective of this study. First, which awareness and needs do adolescents have for inter-generational education? Second, is there a difference between perception and needs of inter-generational education depending on adolescents' general characteristics? Third, what are implications of being given to inter-generational education through analyzing recognition and needs of inter-generational education?
