Abstract
Recently, the educational program in our society has promoted physical activities based in autonomy and creativity. This kind of trend leads children's spaces to get out of the standard composition but focus on challenge, creativity and imagination. As the role of playground spaces has been emphasized, many of local governments start investing in the children’s playground remodeling projects.
According to this, the research will shed light on the characteristics of children's play spaces to enhance children's creativity with interactions in its environment and new types of children's play behavior.
The main direction for this research will be reading related materials and public policy reports on the subject to analyze the characteristics of children's space for children's creativity enhancement. Through this, it will find the relations between children's play behavior and children's play space design and give considerations to a future plan for children's play spaces.
The research will study various types of children's play spaces such as esthetic space, exploring space, challenging space and flexible space.
For the first, the esthetic space should be designed in suggestive forms and abstract colors to inspire children. Specially the suggestive form can be created by distortion techniques like banding and twisting.
In terms of colors, a generalized color can give children to have stereotypes so that it is important to use modified color to inspire children's imagination and creativity.
Secondly, the exploring space can be build with shelter type modeling to separate children from outside and flexible flows for multilateral exploration. Children usually love to play in a small space which is similar to their body size so that the children's play space should consider this patterns of behavior.
What should be considered in the challenging space are intermediate land and irregular forms of objects and it offers to create various different spaces with runways and towers to clam up.
For the last, the flexible space needs moveable facilities and objects so that it allows children to create their own space.
