Abstract
ABSTRACT
Currently, custom-made abutment using CAD-CAM is produced
not only in foreign countries but also in Korea. Suspicion is
growing a lot on precision of domestically produced CAD-CAM
custom-made abutment and stability of screws. Therefore, in this
study, domestically manufactured implant fixture are selected
and Ready-made abutment, CAD-CAM custom-made abutment
manufactured from the same company, domestically manufactured
CAD-CAM custom-made abutment are fabricated and stability
and fitness between implant fixtures, abutment and screw are to
be studied.
Working casts are fabricated and then Ready-made abutment
(Transfer abutment, Osstem, Busan, Korea), CAD-CAM custom-made
abutment(Smart abutment, Osstem, Busan, Korea) and CAD-CAM
custom-made abutment (Myplant, Raphabio Co., Seoul, Korea)
were fabricated five each and screws used were provided by each
company. Fixture and abutments were tightening with 30Ncmaccording to the manufacturer's instruction and then Preloding
reverse torque value were measured 3 times repeatedly. Using
Kruskal-Wallis test(P<0.05), significant relation between abutments
were analyzed. After specimens were embedded into epoxy resin,
wet cutting and polishing were performed and FE-SEM imaging
was performed, on the contact interface.
The results were as follows:
1. CAD-CAM custom-made abutment(Myplant abutment) manufactured
domestically showed lower Preloding reverse torque value with
statistically significant difference than the Ready-made abut-
ment(Transfer abutment) and CAD-CAM custom-made abutment
(Smart abutment) manufactured from the same company
2. Ready-made abutment(Transfer abutment) and CAD-CAM custom-
made abutment(Smart abutment) manufactured from the same
company showed fine fitness in the fixture-abutment, fixture-
screw, abutment-screw interface. However, CAD-CAM custom-made
abutment(Myplant abutment) manufactured domestically showed
marginal gap in the fixture-abutment interface.
Conclusively, in domestically manufactured CAD-CAM custom-made
abutment(Myplant abutment) the Preloding torque value is
measured low and the fitness between fixture and abutment
decreased compared to that in Ready-made abutment(Transfer
abutment) or CAD-CAM custom-made abutment(Smart abutment)
manufactured from the same company
