Abstract

The Effect of Sacral Vertebra Reform with Drop on Lumbar Curvature

It is accompanied with postural imbalance and lumbago caused by various reasons. Postural imbalance and lumbago have been caused by increased activities, entrance examination-oriented education policies, and development of transportation such as driving.

Postural imbalance and lumbago are closely related to the sacral vertebras. As a result, we observed the changes of the lumbar lordosis through realignment of the sacral vertebra.

Chiropractic was founded by Daniel David Palmer and Drop treatment was based on Newton’s first law and therapists have been able to treat patient with less energy but effectively.

The study was conducted regardless of sex and both congenital malformation and concurrent diseases were eliminated from this study.

To get the objectivity for the study, we determined the malposition by X-ray and the realignment of it for 4 weeks.

In the study results ,when the width of the sacral vertebra have been changed to 0.09 cm and the height of it have been changed to 0.11 cm, which results in the lordosis of the lumbar to be change to -1.34 degree.

As seen from these results, realignment using the Drop treatment reduces the lordosis of the lumbar. The lordosis of the lumbar shares a close association with somatotypes. As realignment using the Drop treatment (the Thompson Table) influenced the lordosis of the lumbar, it is presumed to influence somatotypes as well.
