Christianity introduced by the West was understood as a rival relationship with Confucianism in China, for it has an unique tradition and Sinocentrism. History of China shows that suffered conflict and friction exceptionally as Christian missions done in eanest when china undergo changes internally and externally in the 19th century. Recently, as the Chinese government's pursuit of globalization and expanding exchanges with Western countries, cultural exchange of East-West presented in Chinese modern history, new understanding of the roles of Christianity and the new assessment are underway.
This study aims to find out about Christianity in China through the chinese church history centered on a Christian mission.
First, In modern and contemporary history of China, I looked around how the chinese church reaches the china of today with any history. In turbulent flow of world history, the church of China spent in isolation for a long time didn't prepare countermeasure and christian mission was conducted in resistance due to invasion of Western imperialism. That was why the chinese mission came back a long way by being recognized as a colonial missionary.
Second, I examined the status of the chinese church centered on Sam-ja church and house church that were recognized as a distinctiveness of the church in china. I have overlooked the special circumstances of the chinese church that walked spontaneously due to china's aborted mission and in an atmosphere of reform and opening-up, at this time welcoming the opportunity to encounter the chinese church again, they are the issue that christian mission groups around the world need to be solved together.
Finally, through the study of the china's church history with a focus on christian missions, that's where the proposals to further the growth of the chinese church in terms of mission are as follows;
First, we need to increase understanding of different cultures and give up the cultural racism.
Second, we need to have an interest in training a leader to make the church itself rooted so deeply through the open door of difficult missions in china.
Third, we need to get ride of side or slanted thinking about the china's church history and desperately request an effort to find out the chinese church more.
