한국인의 코끝성형술에서 비중격연장술의 임상적 유용성

Abstract

Background and Objectives： Nasal tip projection is one of the most difficult part of rhinoplasty. Failure to control the projection, shape and rotation of the nasal tip is a common occurrence among patients with weak cartilages. The purpose of our study is to investigate the usefulness of septal extension graft (SEG) in controlling the tip shape. Materials and Methods：We retrospectively studied 106 patients who underwent rhinoplasty including tip surgery with SEG and other tip plasty. 44 patients were operated by SEG and 62 patients by other nasal tip plasty. Four type method was used together with SEG to control the tip projection. The result of surgery was evaluated by comparing nasal measurements on photographs taken preoperatively and postoperatively. Results： Most of the patients showed prominent tip projection and good cosmetic result with SEG. Conclusion：SEG is a predictable and trustworthy method of controlling tip projection in patients who need noticable tip projection, but should be careful of complications, such as nasal stiffiness, infection, deviation.
