- Abstract
- Recently, biocompatibility report revealed that the TiO2 nano-mesh structure has much higher cells colonization than the native TiO2 on Titanium (Ti) surface. TiO2 nano-mesh surface could be provided by alkali-treatment. Surface morphology and chemical composition of samples were characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), contact angle measurement and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The surface of nano-mesh formed on the Ti was contained mainly TiO2 phase. Ti surface was treated by Alkali treatment in order to property of hydrophobic alter to hydrophilic surfaces. Usually, the hydrophilic surface is suitable for the cell adhesion. The cell viability test revealed that significantly enhanced viability on alkali treated Ti surface showed good proliferation after 1 day cell seeding. However, after the 3 and 5 days showed negative effect on cell proliferation compared with untreated surface.
