- Abstract
- Recently, biocompatibility report revealed that the TiO2 nano-mesh structure has much higher cells colonization than the native TiO2 on Titanium (Ti) surface. TiO2 nano-mesh surface could be provided by alkali-treatment. Surface morphology and chemical composition of samples were characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) and thin film X-ray diffraction (TF-XRD). The surface of nano-mesh formed on the Ti was contained mainly anatase TiO2. The changes of MC3T3-E1 cell morphology were observed by FE-SEM at initial adhesion stage of cell culturing time 20, 40 and 60 min. Cell spreading on the untreated Ti surface had extensive area than that of TiO2 nano-mesh surface after cell culturing time 20 and 40 min. However, after culturing time 60 min, control and experiment group was similar to cell shape and spreading area. These results revealed that TiO2 nano-mesh surface had negative affect on MC3T3-E1 cell morphology in the initial adhesion.
