A Study on the Entering Strategy of Korean
Logistics Firms into China Logistics Market

As the economic volume and trade in north-east Asia have increased over the past 20 or 30 years, this region has become one of the world's three economic blocs with EU and NAFTA.
Such economic growth in this region comes from the Trade Liberalization and China's economic growth as well as the process of WTO negotiation.
The logistics industry in China is expected to be able to grow over 16.7% each year, propelled by the increase in commercial traffic through its economic growth and trade increase. China also designates its logistics industry as one of the country's major industries and attempts to make its nation a center of north-east Asian logistics industry by extending logistics infra such as roads, trains, ports and airports, and by adding a plan that the nation will develop its logistics industry in 2006 on the Eleventh Five-year Economic Development Project.
In order to dominate this Chinese market in advance, many global logistics industries are trying to enter this market, but Korean logistics industries fell a step behind. So, for their successful entry into the Chinese market, they need better understanding of the Chinese logistics industry, and also they need to become larger by forming strategic partnerships in the Chinese market.
In addition, the Korean government needs to build a logistics cooperation system between Korea and China. To achieve this, in the short term, it needs to activate cooperation meetings for reinforcing the cooperation between the transportation and logistics at government level. Over the medium term, it needs to alleviate the technical, legal and political barriers for the unification of north-east Asian shipping markets in the field of transportation and logistics. In the long term, there should be an integrated transport network among Korea, China and Japan
