당뇨망막병증환자에서 전방내, 유리체내, 혈청내의 VEGF 및 PEDF농도 비교분석

Abstract

Purpose : To analyze the levels of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) and pigment epithelium-derived factor(PEDF) in the aqueous, vitreous, plasma of patients with diabetic retinopathy(DR).

Methods : seventy eyes of 66 patients with diabetic retinopathy and 42 eyes of 40 patients with nondiabetic ocular disease as control subjects were analyzed. Diabetic retinopathy patients were divided into 3 group including nonproliferative diabetic retinopathy(NPDR group, n=21), posterior proliferative diabetic retinopathy(post. PDR group, n=38), anterior proliferative proliferative diabetic retinopathy(ant. PDR group, n=11). The concentration of VEGF and PEDF in the aqeous, vitreous, plasma were measured by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).

Results : The aqeous level of VEGF was significantly higher in ant. PDR group(P<0.05). The vitreous level of VEGF was significant higher in post. PDR group(P<0.05). The plama level of VEGF was higher in NPDR group(P<0.05). The PEDF concentration difference between groups in aqeous, vitreous, plasma were not statistically significant.

Conclusions : The VEGF concentration was higher in region of ocular tissue that active neovascularization exist. In diabetic retinopathy, the VEGF was significantly correlate with the neovascularization and more important than PEDF.
