Abstract

This thesis is to empirically analyze the role and management in the family of Song Duckbong, Yu hi-chun's spouse by analying MiAmIlGi of Yu hi-chun. In the first place she plays a large part on her family. She not only ran a household she but played roles of needle woman, mistress, relief of the poor. She was the chief support of the family and held herself responsible for household economuy. Yu and Song are one of the most hamonious couple, whereas the wife had leading roles in many aspects. In general, the women at that time enjoyed autonomy and progressiveness from thetr status. Tey were not prohibited to social meetings with men. It stems from equal inheritance rights which was pervasive in those days. Song Duckbong, thinking appears in these literary works. As shown above, she held her own dignified behavior against her husand. She entrusted even her parent`s to her husband. Besides exchanging poem with her husband, she played a role such as a moral supporter, and what is more, enjoyed sincerely conjugal love easily standing comparison with married coulpe of today. In the 16th century before Patriarchal oder took root while determining women's activities to the household, It emphasizes the functional, ideal female for both managing a household and showing the strong vitality for maintaining a patriarchal society in national and society. So being based on that, women's home management could maintain and strengthen a patriarchal society in structure. but in the other side, It makes the women show herself at one's best through managing a household. The criticism that the spontaneity of the women contributes to maintaining and strengthening a patriarchal society itself is because of a broad interpretation and not seeing the substance. Through the proof that both facts the active women making area herself and relation of coexistence discriminating the role and responsibility of both sexes, It finds a clue about established criticism. Also through a lineage of Song Duckbong, arranging and showing the status and role of Hongju Song in the terms of dynasty in Honam clearly.
