Although materials have been abundant with rapid industrial development, they cause a serious social problem of environmental pollution, In particular, the environmental problems like vibration and noise generated in construction area are mainly caused by blasting. As such problems became a driving force of direct and indirect development of blast technology, institutional programs including environmental impact assessments from the beginning of blasting design are being developed for organized management of fields.
There has been much concern on damage to underground utility and studies on subterranean vibration have been carried.
In this study, vibration was obtained from a blasting test, their analysis was carried out by regression. And it was to compare predicted vibration using a square root conversion formula obtained through the regression analysis and subterranean vibration obtained using a model developed by Holmberg and Persson(1979).
The results are presented as follows. For 6.4 kg of charge per delay, convergence was made with 0.837 cm/sec at 90 m, 3.758 cm/sec at 35 m for 7.5 kg, 6.848 cm/sec at 19 m for 5 kg, 7.005 cm/sec and 7.369 cm/sec at 14 m for 2.8 kg and 3kg respectively.
It is demonstrated that there are differences when surface and subterranean vibration are near from the blasting holes. Subterranean vibration and surface vibration are similar as a distance between them is farther. As charge per delay is smaller, it converged at nearer distance. However, a model of 6.4 kg had farther distance of convergence for charge per delay because of drilling length and stemming length.
