Elliptical Types of English Verb Phrases

Verb Phrase Ellipsis is an important subject in this thesis, and the aim of this thesis can't be properly understood without any prior knowledge of Ellipsis.
I will present conditions under which verb phrases are elided based on positive and negative examples. I will provide several scholars's theories about analisys of verb phrase ellipsis. Theystate anahporic phenomenon and which part of a clause is omitted with syntactic, semantic, morphologic features.
Moreover I will provide various Elliptical Types -Factor that affect verb phrase ellipsis include: the distance between antecedent and ellipsis site, the syntactic relation between antecedent and ellipsis site, Auxiliary and VP deletion, and the presence or absence of adjuncts. Building on these results, I will examine where in the generation architecture VP ellipsis should be located.
I'll start with description of Ellipsis, followed by an overview of the research described in this thesis.
