본 연구의 목적은 기존 가정폭력가해자들의 수강명령경험에 대한 외부자적 관점의 경험담론 틀 안에서 조망할 수 없었던 가정폭력가해들의 경험세계들을 밝히는데 있다. 경험의 과정은 특성상 복잡성, 모호성, 양가성, 다차원성을 내포하고 있기 때문에 단일시점에서 파악할 수 없는 개념이다. 많은 연구들이 적응해가는 경험을 기계론적으로 건강과 병리라는 두 가지 차원에만 주목하여 그 막간에 숨겨진 가능성을 발견하려고 하지 않았다. 본 연구는 그동안 늘 관찰대상이었던 가정폭력가해자들은 담론의 주체자로 끌어내어 그들이 수강명령경험을 어떻게 인식하는지, 그들의 경험세계가 어떻게 구성되고 있는지를 파악하고자 한다. 본 연구에서는 내부자적 관점에서 가정폭력가해자들 당사자의 목소리를 생생하게 듣기 위해 질적 연구방법론 중에서 근거이론접근방법을 선택하였고 그를 통해 가정폭력가해자들의 수강명령경험을 총체적인 관점에서 이해할 수 있는 실체이론을 개발하고자 했다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해 본 연구에서는 수강명령에 참여하고 있는 가정폭력가해자 10명을 대상으로 수강명령 전 과정을 녹취한 녹취록과 심층면접을 통해 질적 연구를 수행하였다. 자료 분석은 질적연구 방법 중 Strauss and Corbin(1998)이 제시한 근거이론 방법에 의해서 이루어졌다. 연구참여자들과 심층면담을 통해 얻은 원 자료를 이론적 민감성을 가지고 지속적으로 개방코딩 한 결과 총 17개의 범주와 35개의 하위범주, 224개의 개념을 추출하였다. 본 연구결과 가정폭력가해자의 수강명령경험에서 주요 현상은 ‘암흑의 터널’, ‘인생의 낙오자’, ‘혼돈이 시간’, ‘막막한 미래’로 나타났다. 중심현상을 일으키게 된 인과적 조건은 크게 ‘가족이라는 이름의 굴레’, ‘의사소통의 괴리’, ‘뿌리 깊은 유교문화 답습’ 세 가지로 구분되었다. 중심 현상에 영향을 미친 맥락적 조건으로는 ‘가족애의 상실’, ‘손뼉도 마주쳐야 소리가 난다’, ‘사회 편견에 대한 두려움’ 등 세 가지의 개념으로 제시할 수 있다. 중심현상에 대한 작용/상호작용 전략을 촉진시키거나 억제하는 중재적 조건으로 ‘집단내의 관계’, ‘가족의 힘’, ‘원가족의 상흔’ 등으로 확인되었다. 중심현상에 대한 작용/상호작용이 전략은 ‘사고전환’, ‘자기직면’으로 나타났고 이러한 전략을 통해 추출된 결과는 기계적 적응과 능동적 적응에 따라 자기정립을 통한 새로운 삶의 추구로 상정하였다.

A Study on Attendance Center Order Experience by Family Violence Attackers Grounded Theory Approach

This study aims to reveal the experiences of family violence attackers that cannot be viewed within the frame of experience discourse from the outsiders' viewpoint of their experience of attendance center order. Since the process of experience contains complexity, ambiguity, ambivalence and multidimensionality on its property, it is a concept which cannot be caught from any single view. Many studies paid attention to adapting experiences from health and pathology mechanically, but didn't try to discover a hidden potential. This study draws the family violence attackers who were always watch list as the subject of discourse and then was to know how they recognize attendance center order and their experience was composed. This study chose grounded theory approach of qualitative research methods to listen to the voices of family violence attackers from insiders' view and through this, it was to develop practical theory understandable from general view of attendance center order of family violence attackers. To accomplish these goals of the research, this study performed qualitative research through recorded transcripts and depth interview of the whole course of attendance center order with 10 family violence attackers who followed attendance center order. Data were analyzed by grounded theory method suggested by Strauss and Corbin (1998) among qualitative research methods. As a result of continuous open coding with theoretical sensitivity of original data from depth interview with participants, total 17 categories, 35 sub-categories and 224 concepts were extracted.

As a result of this study, major phenomena from attendance center order experience were 'tunnel of darkness', 'failure', 'time of chaos', and 'gloomy future'. Causal conditions of central phenomenon were greatly divided into three, 'bondage in the name of family', 'gap in communication', and 'following deeply rooted Confucian culture'. Contextual conditions affecting central phenomenon could be suggested as three concepts such as 'loss of family love', 'It takes two to tango', and 'fear for social prejudice'. Arbitration conditions fostering or inhibiting interaction of central phenomenon were 'relationship within group', 'power of family', and 'recalling the scar of original family'. Action/interaction strategies of central phenomenon were 'conversion of thought' and 'self-confrontation' and the results through these strategies were set as the pursuit of new life according to mechanical and active adaptation.
