- Abstract
- This study was performed to investigate the effect of Anodizing Treatment on the Corrosion Resistance of Various Dental Implant Fixture. Titanium implant was selected with sort of 5 types made by a domestic companies. They have different surface treatment and structure of screw, respectively.
Estimation of electrochemical behavior of anodized dental implant in 1M H3PO4 electrolytes have been evaluated by using electrochemical methods. specimen was used for corrosion test in 0.9 % NaCl solution at 36.5±1℃.
The surface morphology were observed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy(EDX). The electrochemical stability was investigated using potentiosat(EG&G Co, 263A). The corrosion surface were observed using scanning electron microscopy(SEM).
The results were as follows:
1. From the results of SEM micrographs, samples of RBM treatment were observed more smooth roughness surface than sample of SLA treatment, the SLA treated sample was formed deep and fine surface.
2. From the results of potentiodynamic test in 0.9% NaCl solution, corrosion resistance of RBM treated samples were presented value of higher than SLA treated sample of that.
3. In case of samples with anodizing treatment, it has a regular pore with 1㎛ size and decreased surface roughness and tended to smooth than non treated samples.
4. Anodizing treated samples were presented lower value of current density and higher value of corrosion potential than non treated samples.
In conclusion, samples of anodizing treatment were observed higher corrosion resistance that as received samples, it depends on the stable TiO2 porous thin film.
