우울증이 자살 양상에 미치는 영향에 대한 고찰

- Abstract
- Background: This study investigated the clinical charateristics and outcome of suicide attempters referred to emergency department based on psychiatric disorder to analyze the deference of general feature and the aspect of suicide and the effect of the depressive disorder in suicide victims.
Methods: We performed a retrospective analysis of 168 suicide attempters who visit the Chosun University hospital emergency medical center during 12-month period from June 1st, 2007 to may 31th, 2008. Via reviewing the chart, we divided the victims into three groups by psychiatric histories, especially the depressive disorder and analyzed various data, including age, sex, previous suicide attempts, the outcome of suicide attempts, etc. We used Pearson's chi-square test to chart the statistical data.
Results: There is statistically significance in the cause of suicide trial between depressive patient and other psychiatric patients and who had no psychiatric history, and the repeated attempts were more frequent in depressive patients(64%). Sixty percent of depressive patients were admitted in our hospital or local clinic and eight percent of depressive suicide attempter died. Comparing to the other country statistics, there was less person who consult with psychiatric doctor. but the depressive patients had more interviews with psychiatric doctors(62.9%) than other groups.
Conclusion: Depressive patients had more frequent suicide attempts. In this study and previous studies on suicide attempter in our country less victims accept the psychiatric treatment than other countries, but the depressive groups were more acceptable in psychiatric interviews. So we emphasize the importance of psychiatric consults and follow ups for suicide victims, especially in depressive patients.
