우연적 행위의 형상화를 통한 상징성 연구

Abstract

현대 과학 문명의 발전을 통해 회화는 그 시대의 사회적 삶 속에서 사상이나 정치, 경제, 문화 등 주위 환경의 영향을 받으며 20세기 이후 다양한 변화의 양상을 보이게 된다. 그러한 회화의 특징으로는 그대로를 재현하는 과거의 고정관념을 거부하는 매우 다양한 양식들로 구성되어져 내부의 순수하고 자발적인 감정에 의존함으로써 예술가의 주관적 감정이나 본능적 욕구가 자유롭게 드러나는 것이다. 예술 활동에 있어서 인간이 표현하고자 하는 욕망은 인류 문명과 더불어 각기 변화된 모습으로 표현되어 왔지만 결국 예술작품은 인간의 가장 깊숙한 내면으로부터 솟아나오는 감정의 표출이며 내면의 지적 충동을 여러 가지 회화적 표현으로 나타내는 것이다. 이러한 미적가치 기준과 관점의 변화로 발생되는 다양한 우연적 이미지는 개인의 감정, 무의식, 풍부한 상상력으로 나타났고 우연의 범주는 다다이즘을 시작으로 초현실주의 그리고 추상표현주의 이후까지도 영향을 주며 의미를 더해 왔다. 현대 미술에 있어서 감성이나 이성 혹은 직관이나 무의식과 같은 예술가의 주관적 의식의 표현은 자유로운 조형 행위로 나타나며 이로부터 우연의 이미지가 발생되어 추상표현의 가능성과 실험적 경험의 세계가 창조되어지며 우연의 중요성이 한 층 더 부각되어 나타난다고 할 수 있다. 20세기 현대 미술가들은 형식이나 기법만을 중시하는 이론에서 벗어나 인간의 일상과 감흥을 불어넣으려는 목적에서 어떤 규칙과 법칙 없이 무의식 상태에서 자유롭게 행위 하면서 우연성을 찾게 된다. 우연적 행위의 가치와 중요성은 현대 예술가들에게 있어 중요한 회화적 요소의 한 부분이며 그들의 끊임없는 시도와 창작과정에서 발생되는 우연의 효과는 현대미술의 변화에 커다란 영향을 주었다. 형태의 포현에 있어서 명확한 구상성의 비중과 회화의 표현 방법이 변화되어 왔지만, 본인은 여러 이미지와 다양한 매체로 표현 영역을 확장시키며 선과 색채와 공간감을 중심으로 하는 추상표현의 제작과정에 의미를 두고 우연적 행위의 중요성을 부각하는 다양한 실험적 표현들을 시도 하였다. 즉 가시적인 세계의 재현보다는 우연적 행위를 통하여 불꽃의 이미지를 상징적 조형성으로 표현하였다. 본인의 작업에서 감성에 의해 재구성된 우연적 행위들을 통해 더 많은 의미를 상징적으로 나타내고자 했으며 내면표현을 위해 다채로운 이미지를 시각화하고 다각적인 시점을 통해 마음속 자아와 삶의 공간을 찾고자 하였으며 즉흥적 직관과 행위적 제스처에 새로운 개념의 가치를 두고 추상표현주의의 특성을 적극 활용하였다. 이번 연구에서 추상표현주의의 우연성에 접근하는 방식과 표현과정의 영향을 받아 추상적으로 떠돌던 개인적인 생각을 하나의 개념으로 정리하고 작품 내용과 형식을 분석하고 되돌아봄으로써 작업의 구조를 더욱 견고히 할 수 있는 계기가 되었다.|Because of the development of modern scientific civilization, painting has shown various changes of patterns since twenty centuries being affected by surroundings such as thoughts, politics, economics and cultures. The painting is composed of patterns that deny past stereotypes representing the world as it is and reveal the personal feelings and instinctive desires of artists by depending on their pure and spontaneous feelings. Although desires that artists want to express through artistic activities have been represented in various images along with the civilization of human beings, a work of art is an expression of feelings deep inside of an artist and a pictorial representation of intellectual impulses. Many contingent images caused by changes of aesthetic values and views have appeared through personal feelings, unconsciousness, exuberant imaginations, and those contingent images have affected Dadaism, Surrealism to Abstract Expressionism. Because the artist's subjective expressions such as sensibilities, reason, intuition, or unconsciousness appear through free shaping activities, and contingent images produced by the activities create the possibilities of abstract expressions and the world of experimental experiences, the importance of contingency can be more. emphasized Modern fine artists in twenty centuries started to find contingency in free and unconsciousness state without any rules or regulations to free themselves from theories considering only forms and techniques important and to provide inspiration to real lives. The value of contingent activities is one of the most important pictorial factors to artists, and their continuous attempts to create the activities and the effects of contingency produced in the process of their creation have greatly affected the changes of modern fine arts. I've tried to various experimental expressions to show the importance of contingent activities while putting the meaning in the process of creating abstract expressions which focus on space sense of lines and colors by expanding my artistic expression space to many images and various media. In other words, I express the images of fire as symbolic figuration through contingent activities rather than represent visible world. I want to show more meanings symbolically through contingent activities reconstructed by emotions, visualize various images to express inner mind, and find the space of the self and life with diversified views. In this study, I can make my work more solid by analyzing the contents and patterns of my works and organizing my wandering thoughts into a concept with the methods of Abstract Expressionism that approach to contingency and the progress of expression.
