Abstract

This article aims at presenting the results of trade, problems, countermeasure sand development policies existing between korea and china by the recent statistical data. Since 1970's, Korea's economy has embarked on a track of fast growth and completed the process of industrialization, It is called Four Tigers in Asia together with Taiwan, H.K and Singapore. Korea was impacted by Asian financial crisis in 1997. However, Korean goverment hao been adjusting its economic policies continuously, Its foreign trade volume reached USD 10.344 billion by 2002, ranking the 12th in the world. Since China's reform and opening up in 1978, China has been learning from its neighbor of Korea of the latter's experience in economic development while boosting national economy and developing foreign trade. Since establishment of the diplomatis relations between Korea and China, bilateral trade has steadily been increased, trade goods have been improved and the economic relations between the two countries have made rapid strides through the joint-venture companies. Since the two countries have established diplomatic relations in 1992, the trade between Korea and China has been developing rapidly, By the end of 2006, Korea became the fourth major trade partner of China and China the sixth largest trade partner of Korea, Additionally, Korea became the largest investor in China and Chines investment in Korea also grows continuously. During the period, there have been existed the trade conflicts and disputes between the two countries, but it has not made any affect on the trade development. But Korea and China should make every effert to decrease the trade conflicts and trade unbalance of China, And further, Korea and China should strengthen the communcition interchange and expand the joint venture. As the free area becoms visible in the two countries, the trade relations will be greatly developed. Especially, the recent big growth of China economy will necessiate the close cooperation between Korea and China.
