Abstract
Purpose:To evaluate stability and bone loss and histomorphometric bone reaction of dental implants in case of immediate nonfunctional loading(INFL) and immediate functional loading(IFL)in dogs.
Material and Method: In 3dogs, 24 AVANA implants were placed on each side of the partial edentulous in mandible: 12 INFL implants,12 IFL implants. Dogs were sacrificed 8weeks later. Implants stability were evaluated after implantation and sacrificed with periotest. Horizontal and vertical bone loss were evaluated in X-ray. Periimplants new bone formation and bone reaction were evaluated histomorphometrically.
Results: 5 implants were failed: 1 implant was INFL group. 4implants were IFL group. After sacrificed, Periotest values were incresed most implant in IFL group but were similar with after immediate implantation in INFL group. I Radiographic bone loss was not different from INFL and IFL group.Conclusion: INFL and IFL appear to be technique that can provide satisfactory implant success but it is important to select indication.
