여수시 관급수불소농도조정사업의 5년간 후 평가

Abstract

An adjusted water fluoridation program has been implemented at Hak-yong water supply system in Yeo-su city since September 1999 The purpose of this study was to evaluate the prevative affect on dental caries by water fluoridation program in Yeosu city during 5 years. Dental survey for 1,358 children 6-15 years old in fluoridated area and 1,664 children in nonfluoridated area were carried out according to WHO in year 2005. DMF rate, Active D rate, DT/DMFT rate, MT/DMFT rate, FT/DMFT rate, DMFT index, DMFS index were calculated and analyzed. The obtained results were as followed ; 1. DMF rate of fluoridated area was 62.5% and 78.1% in nonfluoridated area. 2. Active D rate of fluoridated area was 33.5% and 44.9% in nonfluoridated area. 3. DMFT index of fluoridated area was 2.6 and 3.7 in nonfluoridated area. 4. DMFS index of fluoridated area was 3.9 and 5.5 in nonfluoridated area. 5. Dental caries prevention effect based on DMFT index difference was 29.7%.and 29.1% based on DMFS index between two areas.
