Abstract
The sintering of zirconia (3Y-ZRO2) has been tested with utilizing microwave method to compare microwave sintering in two hours to conventional electric heating sintering in 16 hours.
The zirconia samples sintered with microwave indicated better sintering density and better even average size of particles comparing to those with conventional electric heating in physical properties and also the sample sintering with microwave observed close to the properties needed in bionic medical uses as we expected.
Otherwise, microwave sintering method indicated more tremendously economical advantages than conventional electric heating in energy saving, energy efficiency, and less heating time. Especially, microwave sintering can be widely utilized to fabricate zirconia prothesis as the properties of those almost are to biomedical uses.
