Abstract
The military organization has much more clear speciality of obedience and formal order than any other organization. Since the military organization is controled and executed by manpower, it has many conflicts like any other organization even it is composed with special obedience and rules. Especially, newcomers of the military who has entered the military with new ideas and different thinking has shown much more severe denying to the unilateral commanding type of the military. Also these symptoms have been understood as a unlucky results witch is able to destroy moral, coherence and discipline that is based on the army. When we look back to the history of the war, we can easily realize that there were many defeats despite the superior weapons and tactics. The reason was probably that we had insufficient willingness of fighting, lack of unity and discipline. This kind of defeats gives us a lesson that invisible power such as spirits, discipline and unity which comes from human mind is more important than countable numbers of soldiers or equipments. The purpose of this research is to analyze the types of commander's leadership which is important to motivate the soldiers and strengthen their invisible combat techniques to guarantee a victory in a war.
Therefore, the types os commander's leadership is considered as an independent factor, invisible elements such as spirit, discipline, and unity are considered as a subordinary factors. Also, speciality of units and situations are considered as an adjustable factor to explain this research. Let us review the following types and models related to the commander's leadership.
First of all I have analyzed the characteristics of the commander witch contains trust, fairness, loyalty, unselfishness to their subordinates, because I though those kind of characteristics are related to leadership. This characteristics are either born or obtained though knowledge and experience, thus it is an important factor to decide a type of leadership.
Secondly, a commander's leadership witch comes from an individual characteristics might influence the combat power. Since the army is the last resort of the national security, the commander's role is important to execute the army. However as I mentioned before, there were many defeats although we had a better combat technique in the history of war. According to this fact, we have to realize that the commander's leadership is important to motivate and strengthen one's individual characteristics in other to achieve a good result in the battle field.
Thirdly, the army is consisted of various division. We can divided it into two parts either combat troops and supporting troops. Also there are some units that has a special mission and general infantry units. So, I want to divided the army into different parts and units and analyze the positive effects to the individual characteristics of the soldiers. The modern society is rapidly changing and improving. Therefore a CEO of a company needs to meet the criteria of the modern society in other to rule the maximum 2 years. But, regardless to this fact a commander needs to adjust into a different environment to be a successful "CEO" in his unit. Adjusting to a new environment and an open idea to accept changers are required to a commender.
Fourth, the purpose of the army is to prepare and prevent for an upcoming war. It is essential to always work hard and train hard in order to be prepared to fight anytime, anywhere to defeat the enemies. An army is an organization to prepare for the war, so it requires a hard discipline. It would be meaningful to combine the commander's leadership and training.
These are the results of the research.
Results of above four main researches are like following.
In the relation of commander's individual characteristics and leadership type, not-selfish commanders connected to favor, trust to their subordinated man are showing revolutionary leadership type. On the contrary, more frankly commanders connected to fairness to their subordinated man are showing a leadership type of transaction.
Revolutionary leadership is asking more high level leadership under severe self-sacrificing situation for the most motivation. Result of commanders leadership type on invisible combat power is showing revolutionary leadership is much more effective than transactional leadership.
In the relation of a special of unit type and invisible combat power, a carisma, discipline and morale can be total meaningful factor and individual consideration, intelligence stimulating are can be partical meaningful factor but every factor else these mentioned above is not meaningful things.
In other word only revolutionary leadership commander can has a possibility of control.
In the researching of relation between commander's leadership and emergency or in real war situation, the transactional leadership has more important meaning of coherence, although it is partical meaning, by a managements of situational rewards and exceptions and revolutionary leadership has a meaningful carisma in coherence totally and individual consideration is a partical meaningful and any other factors are non-meaningful.
Consequently, revolutionary leadership suitable for spontaneous motivation with understanding their subordinate man's situation has more big effect on invisible combat power and unit's speciality under various situation, especially emergency situation, also can be a meaningful factor under revolutionary leadership.
In this point, the situational factor can be a meaningful is not showing in the morale and disciplane. The very thing we must remember, this can may give us more suitable answer to this research, is carisma's effect is showing more strong influence on coherence under war or emergency.
And finally the revolutionary leadership is can be a suitable direction of education of leadership the war.
