광주지역 노인의 구강보건실태 조사

Abstract

Korea has been changed rapidly into aging societies. Aged people has been increasing yearly and their health strategies shoud be planned and appraised. Oral health care is very crucial to aged groups with health control. The purpose of this study was to investigate the oral health condition of elderly people in Gwangju metropolitan city for the old through oral survey(DMFT index, DMFS index, CPITN, degree of calculus accumulation and the number of remaining teeth). One stage cluster sampling was applied to the subjects of 519 elderly people aged more than 65 in 15 sample clusters from Table(online: www. gwangju.go.kr/ gjcity/office/bokji) for the old. Oral health survey was conducted and analyzed from May 27, 2006 to July 29, 2006 and the main results were as follows; 1. Active D rate was 53.9% of subjects. 2. DMFT index was 13.59 and MT rate 68.4%. 3. Edentate in the elderly was 16% , need of extraction was 9.4% in upper and 8.0% in lower. 4. Calculus rate was 27.4% and shallow pocket rate was 35.5% in Community Periodontal Index. 5. Using rate 49.1% was in removable dentures and needy rate was 31.6%.
