Abstract
The intrinsic attribute of space is allowing people to facilitate and incorporate their lives. That means the first thing space design should consider is recognizing and reflecting human activities. Again, the activity trend arises between human and space should be reflected meaningfully on space design.

People in a space are the subjects of it and they start to build the process of individual recognition by encountering objects in that space. This cognitive interaction between people and space defines the characteristics, meanings and activities of a space and these are limited and expanded again by physical and psychological factors.

Especially, the boundary, one of the most visually important physical elements of a space, is expanding its boundary by visually expanded forms and varied meanings. The relationsbetween people and space made by boundaries, which visually transfigured with vagueness, flexibility and mutuality becomes a kind of media for formative communication. As being utilized as media, boundaries are become more complicate, multilateral and solid affected by material types, solidity and digital media and they also assist communications based on activity- entailing between people and people and people and space.

The purpose of this study is Investigating the definition of boundaries and interaction and the relationship between them and enlightening the formative value and potential applicability of space design for the boundary, where the interactions are occurring. This has conducted by depicting boundaries, which entails consensual design activity, rather than those used just to divide spaces and establishing a methodology for case study and presenting standards based on the definition,

This study is consisted of 6 chapters and they are summarizedhere below

Chapter2.
Investigates flexibility and ambiguity, which are important functions for arise of boundary and interaction by reviewing the shifting concept of space design in contemporary architecture.

Chapter3.
Analysis the shifting concepts of boundaries in history and examines the methodology of making boundaries in contemporary architecture, way of extension from inside to outside and the elements give ambiguity, transparency to boundary.

Chapter4.
Establish basis of systematical case study by categorizing examples of interactions in space from literature review.

Chapter5.
Presenting examples of interaction design in space and its potential functionality and value.

Chapter6.
Conclusions

- Following the collapse of dichotomy-oriented ways of thinking, boundaries, in general term, are disappeared and became vague. This allowed the appearance of unexpectedly combined values, flexibilities and possibilities.

- The genres, once clearly divided, started to cross over their borderlines and arise extensions among them. The paradigm of continuity also forced the traditional concept of time and space disappeared and made people think on the basis of time rather than space.

- The role of boundaries in this innovative concept of time and space is blurring and extending the traditional concept of spaces and providing their communicational functionalities rather than being used just for dividing inside and outside. This means whether if a boundary is physical one or psychological one, it should be acknowledged as a communicational means.

With understanding and employing these interactive values between spaces, the space design area would expect alternative ways of designing space in which space, boundary and people can interact actively.
