Abstract

도시환경 이미지개선을 위한 공공시설물 연구 - 광주 상무신도심 중심으로 -

이상적인 도시환경은 현대문명이 가져다주는 기능적 혜택을 누리는 것과 함께 정서적 풍요로움을 얻을 수 있어야 한다. 그러나 국내의 많은 도시들은 물리적 성장에 치중하였고 그러한 과정에서 발생된 획일화와 삭막함을 감소하기 위하여 도시를 장식하기 시작했다.

최근 들어 시민들의 생활수준이 향상되고 의식수준이 높아짐에 따라 도시의 공공시설물에 대한 요구는 한층 더 높아지고 있으나, 지역고유의 근본을 잊어버린 경우가 많았고 사람과 환경을 생각하는 거시적인 관점의 조형미를 담아내지 못해 부조화로 혼란스러운 도시가 만들어지고 있다.

도시의 공공공간은 도시 사람들의 커뮤니케이션이 이루어지고 각종 활동이 교류되며 도시의 공간과 공간을 잇는다는 점에서 그 역할이 매우 중요함을 알 수 있다. 세계의 선진 도시들은 공공공간의 정비와 디자인을 통해 도시의 질을 향상시키고 후세들의 쾌적한 삶을 위해 지속가능한 생태도시를 만들어 가고 있다. 이러한 도시의 공공디자인의 패러다임을 정리하면 다음과 같다. 첫째는 문화적 요소로서의 공공환경디자인이며, 둘째는 환경성을 고려한 공공환경디자인이다. 마지막으로는 디지털기술과 공공환경디자인의 결합을 들 수 있다.

이와 같은 변화를 중심으로 공공공간을 단순히 장소의 개념으로 인식하는 것이 아니라 공간과 인간, 공간에서의 인간과 인간, 인간과 사회, 인간과 문화가 소통하며 어우러져서 새로운 정신을 창출 할 수 있는 공공공간을 제시하는 것이 앞으로의 공공공간이 나아가야 할 방향임을 인식하여야 한다.

따라서 본 연구에서는 공공환경 디자인의 변화 속에서 개념의 재정립과 나아가야 할 방향을 연구한다는 점에서, 또한 점차 파괴되어가는 자연환경의 문제 속에서 광주광역시의 상무신도심을 대상으로 하여 현재 설치되어 있는 공공시설물의 현황과 문제점을 파악하고 지속 가능한 방향을 제시한다는 점에서 그 의의를 찾을 수 있다.|The public facility research for the image improvement of urban setting

We recently have a high standard of living and perception which demands a lot of proper street furniture and exterior surroundings. But installing street furniture and managing it's level haven't improved at all. Public space in a city has very important role to provide a space for people to have communication and various exchange. It also has a big deal to connect the space to space of the city. Developed cities in the world improve their quality through having maintenance and design of their public places, and they keep making sustainable ecological cities for their next generations. We can figure three paradigms in their public design. First, there is public environmental design, considering environmental view, and secondly there is also public environmental design but with cultural element. Finally, there is last one with combining digital technology and public environmental design. With these alterations, we are not considering the public space as simply a "place" itself, but indicating the public place that can create a new motive from combination and communication between place and human, human and human in the place, human and society, and human and culture. Thus, I understand this is how the public place should be developed from now, and we approach ti as an idea, 'public intimacy'. In addition, I recognized the importance of public place as an intermediating tool with place and human in relative side, and I analyzed the elements that the public place needs to have for public intimacy into three part : constancy, interact and complexity. Through the study of these relating elements of public place, its direction can be shown for people to feel familiar and consensus. It a variation of actively processing public environment design, in a study of an ideal's re-arrangement and its direction to advance, and also in a problem of destroying natural environment, this study can be meaningful to indicate sustainable direction
