기모노와 코르셋 이미지를 응용한 현대 패션 디자인 연구

Abstract

세계 각국의 전통복식은 많은 디자이너에게 많은 영감을 주는 하나의 풍부한 자원이며 이러한 요소를 에스닉 룩 (Ethnic Look)이라 한다. 전통복식이 세계 유행에 영향을 미쳤던 예는 과거에도 많이 있었으며 패션의 한 양식으로 정착되어, 어느 한 지역에 국한된 것이 아니라, 일본, 인도, 중국, 그리고 동남아, 서남아시아 일대는 물론 아프리카와 유럽 각국 및 소련을 비롯한 동구권 등 광범위한 지역의 전통복식을 대상으로 전개되고 있다. 이러한 패션테마는 자 문화 중심적 사고에서 벗어나 타문화를 새로운 각도에서 재평가하려는 일종의 변화된 가치관의 반영으로 기존 서구 중심적 패션에 새로운 가치관을 형성하고 있다. 또한 서구와 아시아의 디자인 결합이라는 융화된 디자인으로 현대인들의 구매 욕구를 만족시키는 의복의 영역이 보다 확대되고 그 종류와 스타일은 세분화 되어야 하기에 한 가지 아이템을 활용하기 보다는 기모노와 코르셋이라는 두 가지 아이템을 사용하였다. 즉 동양적인 것과 서양적인 것의 어울림, 서로 다른 지역의 전통적인 복식의 매치와 함께 에로티즘과 페티시즘이라는 공통적인 미적 상징성을 바탕으로 디자인을 개발하여 국내외 패션계의 발전을 도모하였다.

본 연구의 목표인 일본의 전통복식인 기모노와 서양의 전통복식 중 하나인 코르셋을 활용한 디자인 개발 제안을 위한 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 역사적 고찰을 통해 과거부터 현재까지의 기모노와 코르셋의 변화를 살펴보고 기모노와 코르셋 의복을 형태와 종류별로 비교 분석하였다. 둘째, 기모노와 코르셋이 공통적으로 가지고 있는 상징성을 파악하여 의상 개발에 있어 섹시미와 실용성을 가미한 에로티즘과 페티시즘을 활용할 필요성을 느꼈다. 셋째, 현대 패션에 나타난 기모노 룩과 코르셋 룩을 활용한 디자인들을 파악하고 정리 분석하여 나타난 절충성, 구축성, 비구축성, 장식성, 모더니즘으로 국내외 정서에 맞는 디자인 제시를 모색하였다. 이를 토대로 제작된 작품을 통하여 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 현대 사회의 소비자의 질적 수준이 높아짐에 따라 많은 행사와 모임과 파티에 어울리는 기모노와 코르셋이미지의 원피스를 디자인함에 있어 절충성을 기본적인 바탕으로 하였으며 더불어 구축성, 비구축적, 장식성, 모더니즘으로 분류하여 디자인을 개발·제작하였다. 구축성 이미지의 원피스디자인에서는 기모노의 레이어드의 이미지를 부각시키기 위해 가슴 쪽에 절개를 층계식으로 주어 기모노의 디자인을 유추하고 스커트는 많은 절개로 몸의 라인을 밀착시키게끔 하여 바디의 실루엣을 강조하였다. 또한, 코르셋의 느낌을 준 벨트를 이용하여 허리를 더욱 타이트하고 가슴을 강조시키는 효과를 주었다. 장식성 이미지의 원피스 디자인에서는 기모노의 풍성한 소매를 현대적으로 디자인하였고 코르셋 이미지의 레이스를 가미시키고 장식적인 효과를 주기 위해 리본과 진주로 화려함을 더하였다. 비구축성 이미지의 원피스 디자인에서는 기모노의 소매와 가운의 이미지를 최대한으로 비정형적으로 디자인하였고 주름 잡힌 벨트로 코르셋 이미지도 함께 가미하였다. 모더니즘 이미지의 원피스 디자인에서는 광택감 있는 소재를 사용하여 미래적 이미지를 추구하였고 기모노의 소매에서 발전시킨 케이프 스타일의 겉옷과 코르셋 이미지를 최소한으로 가미하기 위해 원피스 자체에 직접 붙여 표현해 주였다. 선행연구에서는 기모노나 코르셋 중 한가지 아이템만으로 디자인 되었으나 본 연구에서는 기모노와 코르셋에 대한 두 가지 아이템의 디자인 매치로써 보다 다양하고 유닉크한 디자인을 개발하였다. 즉 기모노와 코르셋의 가장 대표적인 이미지들을 부각시키기 위해 기모노 이미지에서는 기모노의 소매와 오비, 오비지메, 레이어드기법을 선택하고 코르셋 이미지로는 레이스업 기법과 레이스, 와이어를 사용하여 소매를 풍성하게 부풀려주고 허리는 타이트하게 조여주면서 볼륨감 있는 실루엣 선이 잘 드러나도록 하였으며 여성의 인체미를 아름답게 표현하기 위해 디자인을 기획 및 제작하였다|Traditional clothes in the world is a kind of rich resource giving many designers much inspiration and we call it 'Ethnic Look'. This traditional clothes had effect on the worldwide popularity and settled down as a pattern of fashion. This is not limited in one place, but spread out worldwide to Japan, India, China, Southeast Asia, Southwest Asia including Africa, Europe, Soviet Union and East Europe as traditional clothes. This theme of fashion is to reflect a kind of changed value which tries to reevaluate other culture in a new sight, escaping from self culture-centered thought, which forms new value, different from existing western-centered fashion. This is the mixed design combining western pattern with Asian one, which expands the area of clothes satisfying the buying desire of modern customers and segments the type and style. The representative items are 'kimono' and 'corset'. That is to say, modern design is to get together with eastern style and western style which show the match of traditional clothes in other district, and to pursuit after the development of domestic and foreign fashion by the development of design based on common symbol of beauty on the ground of eroticism and fetishism The conclusion for suggesting design development using kimono, one of Japanese traditional clothes and corset, one of western traditional clothes, which is the purpose of this study, is as follows. Firstly, I looked for the change of kimono and corset from the past to the present through historical search and compared and analyzed the type and kind of kimono and corset. Secondly, when I grasped the symbol which kimono and corset have in common, I felt the need to use eroticism and fetishism adding sexy beauty and pragmatism in the development of clothes. Thirdly, I grasped, arranged and analyzed designs using kimono look and corset look which appeared in modern fashion, and suggested designs fitting with domestic and foreign emotion based upon compromise, structure, non-structure, decoration and modernism. The conclusion gained from the manufactured clothes based upon the above is as follows. As the quality level of modern customers becomes higher, the design of one-piece dress having the image of kimono and corset fitting with many events and parties was based on the compromise and added structure, non-structure, decoration and modernism to develop designs. The design of one-piece dress having the image of structure was analogized from the design of kimono by giving the cut part in a stairway style in the breast part to emboss the image of layered in kimono and the design of skirt laid emphasis on the silhouette of body by tightening the body line through many cuts. In addition, I added the effect of laying stress on the breast by tightening the waist by using the belt giving the feel of corset. The design of one-piece dress having the image of decoration was based on the rich sleeve of kimono in the modern style and added the lace having the image of corset and also added the brilliance with ribbon and pearl which give the decoration effect. The design of one-piece dress having the image of non-structure took the irregular form design in the image of sleeve and gown, and also added corset image with a pleated belt. The design of one-piece dress having the image of modernism sought after future image by using glossy material and attached it to the one-piece dress to add an outer garment of cape style which was advanced from the sleeve of kimono and the image of corset in minimum. The antecedent study designed with either kimono or corset, but this study developed more various and unique designs by mixing kimono and corset. That is to say, to express the most representative images of kimono and corset I chose the sleeve and obi, lace, and layered technique and I also used lace up technique, lace, wire to enrich the sleeve and tighten the waist and express the voluminous silhouette line well. Those things helped plan and manufacture the design to express the beauty of woman's body gracefully.
