Abstract
The purpose of this study was to explore the effects of a music activity program on enhancing the discern tone and Rhythm by children with visual impairments. Four first graders at a special school for children with visual impairments participated in this study. The researcher designed and implemented a 12-session program in which the children were involved in a variety of music activities.
To evaluate the effects of the program, three approaches were taken. Gordon's Primary Measures of Music Audiation (PMMA) was administered one week before and after the program. Tonic and rhythmic tests designed by the researcher were administered at the end of each session throughout the program.
The children's behaviors in each session were observed and analyzed. To sum up, This study was show the improve of the program on enhancing the discern rhythm, but tone was not show the improve of the program.
The results did not show the effects of the program on enhancing the discern tone and rhythm by children with visual impairments.
