오정희 소설연구 : 를 중심으로

Abstract

오정희의 소설은 내용이나 주제 면에서 독자들의 접근을 쉽게 허용하지 않는 삶의 불구성과 性과 죽음에 대한 천착을 통해 자아 탐색을 다루고 있다. 그러한 이유로 그녀의 작품들은 평자들에게 지극히 모호하고 난해하여 전체적 해독이 힘들다는 평가를 받아왔다. 그렇다면 그녀의 소설에서 삶의 불구성으로 드러나는 세계, 즉 ‘파괴된 세계’이자 ‘부정적 세계’는 문제제기가 될 것이다. 그녀의 소설에 드러나는 육체적 불구와 왜곡된 관능, 불완전한 性등의 모티프들은 하나같이 타인들과 더불어 살지 못하고, 철저하게 단절되고 고립된 채 살아가는 인물들의 파괴 충동을 통해 그리고 있는 까닭이다. 이 논문은 그녀의 소설에 드러난 ‘파괴된 세계’에 주목한다. 그것은 환멸의 대상인 동시에 꿈을 꾸게 하는 조건이라는 점을 증명하고자 하였다. 그리하여 가장 최근작이라 할 수 있는 중편 소설《새》를 중심으로 작품에 드러난 파괴된 세계의 미적 특성을 분석하였다. ‘파괴된 세계’를 소통의 계기로 보기 위해‘충격’의 미학이 현실에 대한 문학적 인식임을 밝히는 것이 연구 목적이다. 문학이 갖는 진정한 가치는 소설 속에 드러난 고통 속에서 더욱 빛을 발할 수 있음을 슬프면서도 아름다운 소설,《새》를 분석해 봄으로써 확인하고자 하였다.《새》는 유년기 주체의 내면 서사를 내세워 부정의 힘을 극명하게 드러내고 있다. 그러한 부정의 힘을 조명해보는 작업은 의식의 흐름에 따라 현실이 문학적으로 어떻게 이루어지는가를 밝혀보는 연구가 될 것이다.|Jung-hee Oh’s novel deals with an investigation of the deformity of life and research of sex and death, which are themes not be easily approached by readers. ?Therefore, her works have been evaluated by critics as extremely difficult to decode because her themes and concepts are vague and hard to understand. The world discovered inside her novels is deformed, destroyed or negative and this is an issue. The motives in her novels (such as physical malformation, misconstruction of organic functions, incompleteness of sex, etc) are expressed by destructive urges of characters who can’t live with others or who live in completely isolated from society. This treatise pays attention to the ‘destroyed world’ that is exposed in her novels.? It proves that the destroyed world is not only heinous target but also condition that gives dream. The treatise analyzes the characteristic beauty of the destroyed world in her works, especially her latest work, “Bird”, that is a medium length story. The purpose of the study is to prove that the impact of beauty is literary recognition about the realities of the life in the destroyed world that is a motive of communication. By analyzing “Bird”, a beautiful and sorrowful novel, the study wants to prove that the real value of literature may be confirmed via the exposed suffering in the novel. Definitely, “Bird” displays negative strength with a stand on the internal narration of juvenility. Such a work that focuses on negative power will become the study of a discovery how real life in literature is achieved via the flow of awareness.
