비대선의 구상선수 (Bulbous Bow) 길이 변화에 따른 저항성능 변화에 관한 연구

- Abstract
- The bulbous bow has long been used in reducing the wave making resistance by varying the velocity field near the bow of the ship. The bulb attenuates the bow wave, thereby reducing the total wave making resistance. Studies have shown that effective positioning of the bulb and its length has a probability of reducing the viscous resistance also. In this paper, a study is done to find the effect of the bulb length on the wave making resistance of large full form ships.
Four bulbs have been designed by changing the length. These were then attached to a full form model ship. The models were tested in a CFD program and the resistances were obtained. The variation in bulb length was found to effect model resistance and the most effective bulb was selected. Based on the outcome of these results, models were made and tested in a Circulating Water Channel. The results when compared with the CFD results were found very agreeable.
