전통공예의 침선기법을 응용한 패션일러스트레이션 연구

Abstract

현대사회는 끊임없이 변화를 추구하는 환경속에서 새로운 문화의 창조와 더불어 인간의 의식구조도 변화되어 가고 있다. 산업화에 따라 물질적인 면을 더욱 중시함으로서 현대인에 있어 요구되는 것은 인간적 채취이고 고유미와의 교류를 통한 새로운 문화의 창조이다. 이러한 경향은 새로운 예술 분야의 한 장르로 패션 이미지를 전달하는 패션일러스트레이션에도 많은 영향을 주었다. 따라서, 본 연구는 국제적인 흐름과 함께 우리의 민족문화와 전통에 대한 관심이 높아져 현대패션에 우리의 전통양식을 접목하여 한국적 이미지를 표현하는데 목적이 있다. 이에 침선기법을 패션일러스트레이션에 응용하여 표현영역을 확대 시키고 수공예적인 기법으로의 자연스러움을 표현하여 현대와 전통의 감각적 이미지를 살려서 현대화시키고 계승하는데 그 목적을 두었다. 연구의 내용 및 방법으로는 국내외 문헌과 논문, 출판물, 기타잡지, 인터넷 검색을 통하여 고찰하였다. 먼저 이론적 배경으로는 패션일러스트레이션의 개념과 역사, 기능과 활용, 표현기법으로 정리하였으며 침선의 이론적 배경은 침선의 역사와 도구, 침선기법을 통하여 살펴보았고 침선공예의 이론적 배경은 색상과 문양, 소재와 종류를 고찰하여 현대의 다양한 작품사례등을 국내디자이너 작품을 통해 분석하여 제시하였다. 작품제작에 있어서는 전통공예의 수공예적인 침선기법을 사용하였으며 전통의 이미지를 현대적으로 표현하고 다양한 패션이미지를 표현하는 가능성을 연구하고자 하였고 이러한 이론적 배경을 토대로 패션일러스트레이션 작품을 총 7점을 제작하였다. 이를 통해 얻은 연구의 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 과거의 패션일러스트레이션은 단순하고 실용적인 설명도의 개념에 불과했지만 본인의 작품개발을 통해 평면적이고 단순한 표현에서 입체적이고 창의적인 예술성을 내포하는 새로운 표현방식의 무한한 가능성을 확인할 수 있었다. 둘째, 디자인은 2004년 F/W 트렌드에 따른 패션아이템 중에서 원피스, 자켓, 스커트, 블라우스, 바지의 구성으로 실루엣의 느낌은 심플하고 단아한 절제의 미를 표현하였다. 셋째, 작품에 표현된 특징을 살펴보면 소재는 전통의 복식과 공예에 사용되어온 자연 친화적인 소재로 천연염색한 오방색의 명주와 숙고사, 모본단, 운문단, 화운문단, 도류불수단을 사용하여 한국적인 이미지를 확대시킬 수 있었다. 색상은 음양오행설에 근거한 오방색과 전통공예에 사용 되었던 색상을 주색상으로 사용하여 한국적인 정서와 전통의 이미지를 표현할 수 있었다. 기법의 홈질, 박음질, 감침질, 사뜨기, 상침, 시침, 쌍밀이단추의 응용은 패션일러스트에 매치시켜 장식적이면서 조형인 특성을 효과적으로 표현할 수 있었다. 이와같은 연구를 통해 전통공예의 수공예적인 기법은 현대의 감각에 맞는 이미지를 표현할 수 있었고 패션일러스트레이션은 현대복식에도 충분히 조화를 이루며 현대적이면서 전통적인 새로운 영역에 예술적 가치를 표현할 수 있었다. 그리하여 앞으로 패션일러스트레이션은 개성있는 시각적 표현의 미적 예술성에 더 많은 가치를 두고 장식성과 예술성이 극대화된 순수미술의 표현영역으로 확대해 나가야 할 것이다. 또한 대중의 호소력을 끌만한 신선하고 혁신적인 감각을 시각화하여 이미지 전달을 할 수 있는 새로운 표현재료와 다양한 기법의 시도가 끊임없이 이루어지고 고도의 전문성을 띠며 후속연구를 통해 발전해 나가길 바란다.|In the modern Society, the human's way of thinking as well as the new cultural creation has been changing by bringing on a change rapidly. The moderns are demanding humanity and the new cultural cretion through the exchange between the old things and new things by setting material before everything else. The latest trends of today had an effect on the fashion illustration, a new art category, which gives a new image. Therefore this report of research has a purpose which expresses Korean images by connecting the korean tradition style to the modern fashion. And we are concerned about the national cultere and tradtion with the international stream. For this reason I studied these for the purpose of expanding expression area of sewing techniques by applying to fashion illustration expressing handcraft techniques by natural beauty improving the modern and traditional images, updating, and succeeding to tradition. As the way of studying and contents, I referred to the inside and outside of the country's literatures, theses, publications, magazines, or the internet sufing. Firstly, as the theoretical stdy, Istudied a conception and history of the fashion illustration. I studied the theoretical background of the sewing techniques through the histories, tools, and techniques. The theoretical background of the sewing handicraft is studied through the colors, patterns, materials and sorts. Ialso andlyzed and indicated the various works by the domestic designers. I manufactured works to describe the traditional images as modern forms of expression, applying to the sewing techniques of the traditional handicraft. I wanted to study the possibility of expressing various fashion images. So I made seven fashion illustration works on the basis of these theoretical background. The conclusion of this study is like this; Firstly, the fashion illustration of the past was only simple and practical but could be checked the endless possibility of new expression style containing artistic value from plain, simple, expression to molding, creation by developing works. Secondly, they consisted of a one-piece dress, a jcket, a skirt, a blouse, trousers and their design could be expressed simple, elegant, and moderate beauty. Thirdly, materials are used natural friendly things which have been used to make traditional costume and craft, that is Silk, Sukgosa, Mobondan, Uoonmoondan, Whauoonmoondan, Doruboolsudan etc. They could be expressed Korean images well. Fourthly, The colors are used five colors on the basis of Five elements school and colors which have been used in traditional craft. They could be expressed a Korean mood and traditional images. Fifthly, Sewing techniques are used tacking, backstitch, hemming, cross-stich, a good needle, basting etc. As the meeting traditimalism and modernism, they could be expressed decoration and molding by matching fashion illust. Like that through this study, as the traditional handicraft techiques, the fashion illustration could be expressed modern images, and it could be harmony with modern costume, it could be expressed artistic values of new are in addition to the way of tradition. Form now on the fashion illstration will have to be put more values to the expression of individuality and artistic peculiarity. It also should be expressed pure artistic area maximized artistic peculiarty. We should try to develop a new style of expression andvarius and various techniques. To attract the intention of people, fresh and innovative images should be delivered to people. We will have to try and develop the continuous study with the specialized knowledge.
