Development of Stereo Vision Module
using TMS320C6711 DSK

This paper describes the developing stereo vision module using CMOS camera and DSP(Digital Signal Processing) Board. Stereo vision provides 3-D information in uncertain environments by stereo matching process which requires a large amount of computation. Therefore a stereo vision system is not easy to apply for a mobile robot. In this study, a embedded system with CMOS(Complementary Metal-Oxide Semiconductor) Camera and TMS320C6711 is proposed for mobile robot to overcome this problem. The proposed system consists of two CMOS Camera, two FIFO RAM and DSP Board which are widely used in optical and image processing. Finally, many experiments were performed to confirm the usefulness of the proposed system.
