Abstract
In the beginning of 21th century, I think human lifestyle will come out big change that can not imagine by common sense presently, according to the technological innovation from the end of the last century in the field of Information Technology, Biotechnology and Environment Technology etc.
Titanium is highlighted to new material to lead 21th century and if we are able to solve the precision processing problems of high added value parts using titanium for ourselves, Titanium makes it possible adequate development over the whole part of our general industry and commercial field as well as aerospace industry.
In this study, we have studied in problems of titanium alloy process that has excellent mechanical properties and several particular qualities. We were able to get following results when analyzing cutting force, surface roughness, attrition quantity and chip figuration etc. through turning operations of Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy using TiAlN Coated Tool.
1. According to the measure result of cutting force, the cutting condition was the most excellent when it had the value of cutting speed of 30~90m/min and cutting depth of 1.0mm
2. As a result of measurement of an attrition quantity, there was the most excellent value With 0.0074 and 0.0072 when was cutting speed 70~80m/min, cutting depth 1.0mm and feed rate 0.2mm/rev
3. Surface roughness influenced small cutting depth of tool, but large feed rate. At the situation of cutting speed of 100m/min and over cutting depth of 2.0, we knew the surface roughness lowered irregularly because of smearing condition
4. The result that chip was diagramed the shaped picture according to cutting conditions, as feed rate increased, the shape of chip was excellent and the chip treatment property was the most excellent in the cutting speed of 90m/min.
